I like Chad, although a lot of WKU fans do not. Chad tries to be unbiased and WKU fans take that as him being negative all the time. But yes, I believe Chad and Adam are friends.

If Sun Belt is smart, they would make the case to ESPN to allow them to share bowl tie ins with Conf USA or the MAC. They could make a good case that the Sun Belt has some very loyal and large fan bases like App State, Ga Southern, ULL and Ark State.

How about they share with the AAC?

I really don't understand the need for an article about something that happened a year ago and how its similar (used loosely) to something that happened to somone else this year. Who cares? Pointless article.

Indeed, and aside from the fact that it's mostly conjecture.

For instance. Was WKU more attractive last year as a Belt member but somehow less attractive this year as a Belt member departing for C-USA? With Petrino as coach, and coupled with their departure, some said that WKU would make a great bowl team this year for their storyline. Ark State fans certainly were in hysterics for a while because they were sure they'd be bumped by WKU. Didn't happen.

Some argue that the Belt doesn't work as hard for departing members. If that's the case, then it is a crappy league because WKU (like MTSU last year) was still a member in good standing and deserved every chance possible. Then there's the published memo from Benson saying he actually tried to buy a bowl spot for another Belt member.....I assume WKU.

Aside from otherwise guaranteed bowl tie-ins, ie XYZ bowl takes the conference champ, the bowl selection process is mostly tied to money....ie, who will bring them the most money for the opponent offered this year. Last year WKU seemed to be the best fit for their bowl invite. This year, apparently not.

I still think with their record it sucked that they didn't get a chance for their seniors to bowl.

RE: Sparks: MT/WKU both suffered Snubs for being in the Belt
The problem is and remains that a 6-6 P5 at large will always be considered before an 8-4 or even 9-3 G5 at large. It doesn't really matter what league that team is in, nor how many tickets they will sell. The P5 school brings TV ratings, and TV ratings equal money.

that being said, this was an absolute crazy year because we had a large number of teams with 2 wins or less, and a large number of teams that finished exactly 6-6. My best guess dictates that a similar problem of having 9 extra bowl eligible teams will not exist next year.

All that's past you guys now. We have 5 guaranteed spots with a few back up options. There's a really good chance if you're bowl eligible in CUSA you are going bowling.

Honestly if we were 6-6, I would not be upset but come on 8-4 against a decent schedule. I mean no one with even 7 wins was left out. I am glad we are moving to CUSA for that reason and better basketball. 04-bow

Did you read the article about how they tried to pay bowls to let teams in? Also, ESPN isnt going to stand up for them until those Tuesday night get better ratings.

Fan support at the stadium for Tuesday night games isn't there for anyone. ESPN is basically giving them a tv slot during dead programming time on the cheap because they wouldn't get a shot on tv during the Thursday-Saturday game days.
