Tic Price
I see folks trashing him all the time on here. I'm sure he deserves it. I can never relate. I left for the army in 97 and came home in 2000. So when I left it was finch, & came home it was Cal. I never had to live through those dark ages. So, I would like to apologize for not being around to suffer with you all. I was busy jumping out of planes. Why did RC hire that dude anyways? I remember Majerus wanting the job. Next thing I know it's price.

Safe hire at the time after firing Finch.

RE: Tic Price
Tic Price wasn't a bad coach. Problem was that he was never going to have a high level of success. He would probably have had enough success to keep his job for a few years.

RE: Tic Price
I just remember discovering tigersillustrated.com on rivals around the time that the cal news started becoming a rumor and the board was crazy with excitement. I was in my barracks room when Espn announced it. I was stoked. Then one day I go to tigersillustrated.com & it changed to Clemson. So I stopped message boarding. Until I found y'all in 06 & started posting later. I only went to one price game. Against Idaho. & saw one game on tv & watched hunter go off for like 39 points or something.

Maybe Chenoa should have given that some thought as well.

Nobody wanted the job. We got turned down by a guy that's now a high school coach. He was the anti Finch, which means he looked good in a suit. His first year wasn't that bad, but it went downhill after that. He had a nice looking wife, way better looking than the student he got caught with.

Tic Price was mediocre in every sense of the word and couldn't keep his focus on BB . Did kind of like Johnny Jones.

RE: Tic Price
Tic Price was a desperation hire made after all the preferred choices turned it down or showed no interest. In addition, because much of the African-American community thought what was done to Larry Finch was disrespectful, the rationale was a black coach needed to be hired, so at least publicly, all the candidates under consideration were black dudes. In hindsight, they all sucked, including Colorado coach Ricardo Patton, who last I heard was coaching at Central High School here.
