Dat ignorance
I referenced G5 because I was trying to be polite and put it into some context so as not laugh at the original assertion.
Dat delusion
CUSA is a much better league than the MAC right now and it isn't even close. CUSA had three top 25 teams at the end of the season (UNM #11, Charlotte #14 and ODU #25), the MAC had just one (Akron #20). The next highest ranked team in the MAC? West Virginia at #96. There were 7 CUSA teams ranked higher than the 2nd highest ranked MAC team. Remind me again, who's delusional?

UTEP does not have a NCAA men soccer program, nor do we have a baseball program. We would probably compete for the NCAA title almost every year in soccer, and do above average in baseball every year.
To put it in perspective on how deep soccer is in EP, EPcobras, EPsantos, and EPpatriots, all u19 teams finished ahead of the patriots (santons fc) in club soccer, who had gone to pks with the ncaa champs, Virginia, two years previous.

Thanks. And what your saying makes sense. Why doesn't UTEP get going on getting soccer and baseball programs ASAP??!! I bet those two "olympic" sports would actually make a little money for the athletic department and definitely break even

There are rumors that UTEP will add more sports (soccer and baseball,) but nothing sound, yet. NMSU's president has already announced that they want to add men soccer. These decisions in regards to soccer programs, will probably be contingent on rather El Paso is awarded a MLS franchise.
