What do you guys think of this? I can pass on any feedback and he can have the shirts available on his site by Friday or early next week. Gotta be careful with mentions of Rice Owls or logos unless someone around here can give clearance.

I like it.

"Or give us death"

Would it be really hard to get permission to use a Rice logo? (I'm guessing the answer is yes)

Nice concept. You may want a more color contrast in the football ... larger type for "GIVE US LIBERTY!" ... and a bit more space between the lines.

I like it. "Give Us Liberty!" is a great detail.

I like punctuation, too. Would it be too much to ask for punctuation in the primary message? I don't want to trample on the artistic integrity of the design, but I could really go for a comma and an exclamation point there.

It definitely needs an exclamation point up there.

But, all and all, you can put me on the list for wanting one. Love it.

Would be cool if we could put C-USA champions on the back or something like that. Love it though.

How do we order one?

I'll put up a link when it's ready to be ordered in the next day or so. I'll pass on the feedback about the punctuation, lol. Just a disclaimer, I'm not the one making the T-shirts, it's my ex-roommate from Rice.

[The shirt itself]

Two things:

One: Why "2014"? The game is NYE. CUSA loses its LB connection after this year.

Two: As cool as this shirt is (and I think it is very cool), if we want LB related shirts, we really need to buy the official ones. Regardless of the actual facts, we have a stigma to us that we're not worth inviting, whether that's for ticket sales, merchandising, or travel sales (hotels/meals). Let's not exacerbate that by creating something that is going to eat into official sales. All of our previous grassroots merchandising campaigns (Rs for Cars, R Flags) have been for products which Rice did not and would not take up, at least not until the grassroots effort proved the viability of the product.

Impossible. Especially when it competes with both Rice sales and Liberty sales to whom Rice no doubt has a contractual obligation regarding bowl-related items.

1. Yeah, I missed the 2014 thing. It needs to be 2013.

2. Is bowl merchandising tracked? Wasn't aware that it was.

1) I'd like the football bigger.
2) +1 on punctuation (comma, exclamation mark)
3) Would be reaaaal nice to get clearance for a Rice mention somewhere. "Rice Football" or some such.

I guarantee the LB knows exactly how many items they sell that say Rice only: http://www.championinnovations.net/cart....list&c=227

Two quick thoughts:

Those of us that buy these shirts will probably buy, CUSA Championship Gear, Liberty Bowl Game gear, and Liberty Bowl Championship Gear in addition to these shirts. I don't see them as an either or type proposition.

Also, the quote captures a very cool moment in Rice Football history. The Liberty Bowl is not nimble enough to scratch this itch.

RE: Say Yes, Coach
I like the general design, but I agree that proper punctuation is in order. It should be: "SAY YES, COACH!"

I would just drop having a date on the shirt, regardless of whether it is 2013 or 2014. If I still have this t-shirt a few years from now, I want to be able to still wear it without feeling awkward about the date on it. There's really no need to have a date on it.

"GIVE US LIBERTY" is a nice touch, but the lettering could be slightly bigger.

Something to think about:
1. Jeremy Eddington - would this require his permission?
2. Jeremy Eddington - as an amateur athlete, would this require NCAA/Rice permission?
