Damn that's sad. How could somebody kill their own flesh and blood? Unbelievable.

Apparently, Derek headed down the wrong path when his football days ended. Hopefully others can learn from this.

How are you reaching this conclusion? That's a pretty irresponsible statement unless you have some credible information to back it.

Crap posted on BYB, that failed to say that the charges against him were dropped.

I don't visit BYB, just saw this: http://www.wcti12.com/news/Former-ECU-fo...index.html ...when looking up information on him.

If the charges were dropped, then I apologize, and it sucks and is quite frankly irresponsible that they wouldn't update their news story, especially given their slogan.

Sorry, did some digging, the charges are still pending, though he was given far lesser charges than his twin brother Cedric who charged with felonies. But, that matters not, it is supposed to be inoccent til proven guilty. His brothers seem to be the ones with the legal trouble at every turn, but it hard to walk away from family.

But, still doesn't make it less tragic.

I loved watching him play. He had some bone-crushing hits, and was loved by his teammates.
