Flight $500
Hotel $139, and that's the team hotel, so I could've saved money by staying somewhere else.

Leaving O'Hare on the 25th, returning the 27th.

Not sure where others are getting the $1500-$2000 #. Unless it's for 2 people.

FYI, this was the only bowl I would've gone to. Well, except for Phoenix of course. Glad for the players. Always more fun in the sun. Although, it's a night game. Hope it's not a hurricane monsoon like it was vs. TCU.

The travel package through NIU is $1,739 per person with double occupancy.

$500 for airfare is good. The lowest I have seen is around $600.

Don't forget to add the other transportation costs, such as getting from the airport to the hotel and back, and transportation to the game itself.
Forgot about the other costs.

Cabs to the from the airport $50
Ride to the game-free. I'm sure one of my Huskie brethren will let my tag along with them.
In N Out Burger $10

Jordan and Jimmy's last game in Cardinal and Black- priceless

So you think it's free for your Huskie brethren to get to the game? Why don't you at least offer to pay $50 same as a cab ride or pay for parking?

I will do that. Knowing my Huskie brothers and sisters, they'll tell me to put that 50 back in my pocket. If they do, I'll donate the 50 to the athletic fund. Go Dogs

for some reason this package is outrageous. We are flying and staying at the Marriott Marquis for 4 nights for 2 for about $1,700 total. The Pkg is for 2 days.

Sounds good. The important thing is that you offered. Have fun at the game.

Bad sign, NIU going to a bowl game is now referred to as an exhibition. How soon we forget.

Its for the players, not for the fans!

so the bowl does not care about fans spending money in the town, I think not. It is also for the fans. If you cannot afford it by all means don't go. Thats a legit reason. But bowl games are in existence to bring people to the town and spend money. And why is this a glorified exhibition game and the other bowls we played in not?

They're all glorified exhibitions, including the Orange Bowl.

RE: Is anyone confirmed going?
Outside of the top tier of college football teams vying for a national championship, no one has winning a bowl game as a preseason goal. It's really the only game throughout the season that doesn't matter at all. Winning obviously helps our prestige and recruiting.

I think our preseason goals were...

5-0 at Huskie Stadium
Add 2 bones to the boneyard
Win the Mac West
Win in Detroit
Beat Toledo

Actually it could've been cheaper for me. When word started leaking out on twitter we were going to SD, I started searching travelocity for airfaires. Just missed booking the same flight for $419. I'm also staying at the hotel for only one night. Flight leaves 6am the day after the game.
