This might be a blowout for UNT...does UNLV even play football? Ha!

Just talk win. Yep, they play football.

RE: UNT favored by 7 over UNLV
You never know how things are going to turn out in a bowl game. Some time, for obscure reasons, one team isn't really into it. Could be something like a popular assistant coach who left to take another job. Or sometimes a big underdog gets tired of reading for 2-3 weeks how they don't have a chance to win, and they use it as motivation. So when making predictions or bets, bowl games should be approached with caution. But just on paper, I agree that UNT is By Far the superior team compared to UNLV, and the potential for a blowout is fairly high.

I haven't watched UNLV this year, but after seeing UNT's D, I wouldn't bet against them.

How many bowl games has NT won ?

Do you guys feel that this team is better than any of the Belt champions (Booger Kennedy teams, etc) ?

Last year Fresno was favored by some ungodly amount over SMU. Team was upset that they didn't get picked for the Las Vegas bowl, ended up getting blown out by June and Co. Same happened against Tulsa a few year ago.

2 bowl wins (1946 Optimist Bowl- 14/13 vs. Pacific, & 2002 New Orleans Bowl- 24/19 vs. Cincinnati)

The level of competition in the early days of the Sun Belt wasn't as strong as this season's C-USA. I don't think it is fair to compare the teams. The game has changed. Players are bigger, faster, and stronger today. I'm proud of both.

Apples and oranges. There was far greater star power on those teams. But there is not a huge dropoff between 1 and 2 at most positions now. And I personally feel we are much better coached now.

Apples and oranges on the 2 eras, KajunRaider. If Booger Kennedy had been another 3 inches taller he'd be playing in the NFL; of course, had that been the case we may not have been able to get a signed L.O.I. from him, too.03-lmfao

Coaching legend Amos Alonzo Stagg was the HFC for Pacific in that bowl game versus North Texas.

Still not sure how we lost a Sun Bowl game in 1959 since Time Magazine Division 1 All American RB Abner Haynes was on that North Texas team. Wonder if he was hurt? I know him so I guess I should have asked him in past years, right?

Anyhow, the late Lamar Hunt an American Football League founder and owner of the Kansas City Chiefs always called Abner the AFL's first true super star. Lamar Hunt's dad was the famous H.L. Hunt of Dallas. Lamar married a North Texas co-ed albeit he was an SMU Mustang football letterman and SMU enthusiast.

KajunRaider, I'm going to try to make yalls bowl game. Fort Worth is about 30 minutes from my place.

I would not like having to lay that many points. Bowl games are such a crap shoot. Just win. I don't care if it is by a point.

I'm still having nightmares about Booger. He got a little NFL time, right ? Liions ? Inch-for-Inch one of best defensive players I've ever seen

Now, I have no idea why you'd say that. 03-cool

He spent a little time with the Broncos, but don't recall that he ever saw the field.
