Check the other thread about this. But it's really been tough. It's not game ticket prices that are the problem, it's flights. Flights now are $700-$900 a pop. Ugh

Yes I see it now, mods can move this one. Was hoping UCF would end up in the Orange Bowl, would have went to that myself to pull for the American.

I'm about to buy 7 through stubhub once the prices go down. Obviously I'm not alone in that. UCF will be we'll represented in the stands.

Nearly 1100 miles. There is absolutely no way to do it in 14 hours unless you are driving 90 miles an hour and make zero stops. Trip will take a MINIMUM of 17 hours, and that's with taking no stops other than getting gas. Realistically, it's going to take you 18 hours if you want to get anything to eat. Some of you forget how long it takes to get across TX, which is nearly 900 miles across from Orange to El Paso. Waco is partway through, but it's still a long trip. I drive from San Antonio to Pensacola FL all the time and it's only 700 miles and that takes 11-12 hours and I don't mess around getting there.
If you drive 79 miles per hr for 14 hrs you would have driven 1106 miles. Waco from Mesa is 1067. Even with a couple of stops you can make that trip in less than 15 hrs.
You need more than a couple stops and making stops takes more time than you think if you plan on getting anything to eat, even if you're doing fast food. Every stop takes 20 minutes or so on average, by the time you get on and off the freeway and you have to make probably 6-7 stops. Plus I highly doubt you will average 79MPH the whole trip. Next, if you run into any construction/traffic that could slow you down. I drive 700 miles between San Antonio and Pensacola all the time and it takes anywhere between 11 and 13 hours depending on traffic in Houston and Baton Rouge. Took me 14 hours one time when a segment of I10 was closed, and that's almost 400 miles less. Also every try to sit in a car seat for 15 hours without at least getting out and stretching for a while. Bottom line is trip will take more than 15 hours, period. Most people that do reasonable amount of stopping to not kill theirselves will do it in 17-18.
Bottom line the trip can be done in 15 hrs. Yes, you can average 79 mph. If you're stoping 6 or 7 times on a 1100 miles trip, unless you're traveling with family you shouldn't be driving long distances. I've driven from Birmingham to Midland, TX in 13 hrs. I've driven from Birmingham to El Paso in 19 hrs with passengers and with stops. I can drive 700 miles in under 10 hrs with stops barring traffic or constructions.
What you're saying can't be done can be done and you don't have to drive fast and furious to do it.
