Monk's a straight-up guy....liked him the first day I met him. In the cutthroat business of college football, it is things like this that make me smile today. Is definitely a testament to his character and upbringing.....good job Monk!

I'm impressed. It was a great gesture and a plus for your school to have him coaching.

You know it's one thing to coach, but it's another to love your job and the kids you're coaching.

Stuff like this will make the underclassmen run through a brick wall for him, if they already wouldn't.

I think it's this kinda stuff that builds a program and gets players to commit. If a coach can come in and care for a bunch of seniors he hasn't really had the time to build a long relationship with, imagine how that could play towards getting high school seniors and JUCO players to buy in and commit to your program.

That is a very good point!

This goes a long way with the moms out there. And you know that the Mamas help the recruits pick the school.

good move, hope USM turns it around they have always been my 2nd favorite team! Even though you have ripped my heart out about a dozen times lol!

According to this article, they restored an old tradition, but it's not clear to me if that included the suits for the seniors or if that was a new twist. If so, a new tradition and a really nice one! Bravo!

It will be a couple of years still before we are competitive again, but I like our coach, and believe he will get it done...

Very classy move. I'm impressed. And in the grand scheme of things this was a ridiculously cheap investment that will pay huge dividends for years to come. Wouldn't doubt one of the seniors cites this decent gesture 30 years from now in a newspaper article stating how Coach Monken was his greatest influence.....
