There's no such thing as "not on the Ballot":

I think Lynch is going to New York. While watching ESPN Classic this morning, I saw a commercial about the Heisman and the first highlight of candidates was Lynch running during the Ball State game.

That suggests to me he will receiving an invitation.

ESPN simply made a commercial (a week ago) that encourages people to watch a show of theirs. They have no idea who will be invited.

I really hope its true.
He's deserving based on his great season as a body of work.
Who would have thought a NIU QB, second place....

And it eases all of our pain. A lot!

Yep. They should all know right about now and then the formal announcement will be made later.

Lynch ia going to New York. That was my opinion last week and has not changed. Probably more than 3 guys go. I was in NY years ago staying at the TIMES SQ Marriott when Danny Weurfal won it. I saw the ole ball coach and Danny together, Weurfal was drinking a beer in the valet line waiting for the car to be pulled up. That always surprised me and I do not know why.
Hope Lynch and Carey have a good time.

The Final Heisman Pundit poll - http://heismanpundit.com/2013/12/09/jame...traw-poll/

If this year’s poll is correct, Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch will take second in the race and claim the highest Heisman finish by a non-BCS-conference player in the BCS era. Lynch grabbed two first-place votes to finish with eight points, well behind Winston’s total.

Defending winner Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M was third with seven points, while running back Tre Mason of Auburn picked up the last first-place vote to finish fourth with five points.

Alabama’s AJ McCarron was fifth with four points.

Now in its eighth season, the HeismanPundit.com Heisman Straw Poll is the college football world’s most trusted gauge of Heisman voter sentiment. It has been the most accurate Heisman poll in the country during the past seven seasons, with the final 2012 poll correctly picking the top five finishers and the final 2011 poll picking the top seven. This year’s poll is made up of 10 anonymous Heisman voters from across the country. Each week during the season they picked three players. Tabulations for the preseason poll are tabulated like a real Heisman ballot, with three points awarded for a first-place vote, two points for a second-place vote and one point for a third-place vote.

Looks reliable and promising.

Not to be a Debbie-Downer but, the Heisman Pundit said, "Given number of names on ballots, I'd be shocked if the 2-7 results were accurate."

RE: Heisman finalists announced at 5 PM
Saw on twitter that Cory McCartney from Fox is predicting 5-6 guys go to NYC. McCartney lists himself as a heisman voter and aficionado. Hopefully he's right...I don't think Lynch gets locked out if they take 5.
