rather send ECU to Hawaii Bowl since the Pirates are leaving

If we're playing Boise that would be fine with me

As long as all eligible teams get a bowl bid I don't care. ECU to Hawaii against BSU, MTSU in Birmingham and FAU in St. Pete would be best for conference. UNT of course against a Michigan or Nebraska at the Cotton Bowl would be fantastic!!

I still think La Tech would have played FSU last bowl season because I still think yall would have made it a much better game than NIU did.

We have no idea which bowl or which opponent. Some think Dallas or Fort Worth.

RE: C-USA Bowl Projections
Is it bad that I'm sort of hoping ECU goes to Hawaii vs Boise State? For 2 reasons...

1 - Marquee opponent.

2 - Would save me $ because I couldn't go to that bowl.

Anywhere else in the US, I'm going... period.

Our beat writer just tweeted that no bowl announcement for ECU is expected tonight. Sounds to me like that means the outcome of the Rutgers-USF game will have some bearing on where we go.

RE: C-USA Bowl Projections
I could see the PAC wanting the Hawaii Bowl for 1 of their extra bowl eligible teams. Would the MWC trade their spot in the Armed Forces Bowl vs. Navy for an extra game against the PAC 12? I think they would have to gain one of the open spots in the independence Bowl, or somewhere for that to happen.

It would be great for C-USA to add the Armed Forces Bowl for this season.

I still think La Tech would have been more competitive last bowl season against Fla. State. NIU keeps showing me nothing

With Rice in the Liberty, I am almost certain North Texas is headed to the Heart of Dallas. Any other selection would just be stupid.

Tonight I am a huge Michigan State fan.

We crapped the bed twice. The first against Utah State at home and then at SJSU. We got what we deserved last year. As much as it pains me to say that, but we were given our chances to make it happened and did not.

I would love to see both FSU and OSU lose tonight so SEC could get into the NC game and the Big10 wouldn't get what they don't deserve.

Per MT's athletic director we will almost certainly NOT be going to Hawaii, so I guess that means ECU is a likely candidate.

At this point... I don't care. If it's Hawaii, I'll watch on TV. If it's anywhere in the continental US, I'll go.

RE: C-USA Bowl Projections
Nothing has been confirmed. I tend to believe our beat writer more than anyone else. He says the Hawaii is unlikely and the BBVA is in play. So we likely wont know anything until sunday but I thought I would just pass along what the rumors were. I dont know the guy that posted that on facebook. He sent it to the wall of ECU Football and It was put on my wall because I am Liked with ECU Football. I have no idea if it will really happen. Hawaii is a prime location but its more for the team and coaches than the fans. Its not remotely possible for me to attend that bowl and I likely wont be able to attend any bowl this year.

It would be great for C-USA to add the Armed Forces Bowl for this season.

Mountain West has 7 bowl eligible teams and 6 guaranteed tie ins if read the article out of San Diego correctly......article stated San Diego St. could be the loser when the musical chairs stopped.....

I can't see the MWC losing a slot just to guarantee a PAC 12 match up in Hawaii.....something else must be in play here.....

guessing that threw things off today.....everyone probably assumed NIU was a lock for a BCS at large.......but now that they lost last night, they get thrown in the "general population".....only 3 MAC bowl tie-ins with 7 bowl eligible teams....would have been 4 slots had NIU won last night with them going to a BCS Bowl.....

some wheeling and dealing going on to make sure NIU still gets a good match up somewhere?

Ummmm. Houston is going somewhere. If Rutgers gets qualified we actually have one less open spot---not one more.

Let me clear this up. If Rutgers loses tonight---the AAC will only have 4 bowl qualified teams. Houston would go play Notre Dame in the Pinstripe and Birmingham and Beefy will be open. ECU could go to Birmingham in that situation and would play the scheduled SEC opponent. The AAC Beefy Bowl opening doesn't really help CUSA because the AAC plays against CUSA in that game--cant play against yourself.

If Rutgers wins, Rutgers gets the Pinstripe against Notre Dame and Houston gets stuck in Birmingham. That leaves the Beefy Bowl open---but again--that doesn't help CUSA for the same reason as above.

Of course, ESPN has lots of bowls (including Beefy and Birmingham), so some wheeling and dealing may happen to create interesting matchups that make better geographical sense. Those deals could end up helping CUSA.

That really really sucks for the MAC...especially when 6 of those are 7-5 or much better.
