Lions in a Christmas Snow Globe
I've rarely seen a football game played in that heavy of snow. Wow. 04-jawdrop

Played a game at waldo against central in 1993? That might have been worse than this.

Lions don't even know how to win a division when it's handed to them. Schwartz has got to go. If a bum like Foles and a 3rd round rookie QB like Wenning at TB can beat you you've got a problem at the top.

RE: Lions in a Christmas Snow Globe
Lions admitted that they played "soft" for most of the game on defense... what? When a team admits they played nearly an entire game "soft" then there's a problem at the top. Come on Schwartz... why don't you start getting these guys mentally prepared for these games... its like they went in at half time and had some warm beverages, sang some Christmas songs... then all boo hoo'd when they found out they had to go back out in the snow and play more football. This team is undisciplined from the top down... 7 Fumbles? (3 lost)... Seriously... 7 penalties in the game to 1 for Philly... poor tackling... mis-communication... just plain terrible football from a terribly coached team. Too much talent on that team to waste it with a dumb a$$ coach.

Watch Schwartz win out and keep his job. I agree, he's the issue, this team has talent and s/b winning much more now.

LOL at the Lions. Finding more inventive ways to lose. It's the team that keeps on giving.

Stafford is the problem... Never has been a good QB, without Johnson he's nothing.

Stafford, penalties, poor execution at key times. All of it is the problem. In a word? LIONS.

I don't blame Stafford. Scott Linihan has a ton of talent to work with yet seems to always Peter out as the season goes on.

But really it was just another vintage Lions loss----61 yard FG 03-weeping

Think I was eight, and a very big Lions fan when Dempsey hit the 63 harder (then advertised as 65) to beat us. Story of my life.

RE: Lions in a Christmas Snow Globe
My dad's expression was "Holy XXXX he made it". This from a man who told me that cursing was a sign of a limited vocabulary. Of course later I learned but I'm just saying…..

Tough be a Bronco fb and a Lions fan at the same time. Tigers, Pistons and Wings have bridged the gap a little for me, but I'm really envious of anyone who is a football fan of a winning team or program.

We just don't know, we celebrate our little wins and competing, but that's it, I dunno. 03-banghead

I watched that game in the orphanage and when Dempsey kicked the field goal we started yelling. Our house mother then yelled at us. Later there was controversy over the kind of shoe Dempsey wore due to his club foot and whether that thick toed shoe gave him an advantage.

RE: Lions in a Christmas Snow Globe
Yeah, he had that block shoe. He was a straight on kicker too, the norm back then. I remember Karras saying he could have blocked it but wanted to see if he would actually make one that long. Every time I see a replay I look for Alex and see if he could have in fact blocked it, but the play on the field stands, inconclusive evidence.

I can't believe I wasted an evening watching those humps self implode with stupid penalties and misfiring at key moments, once AGAIN, have to ask why I do this. 03-banghead

A lot of us thought the same thing many times after watching a Western football game this season.

Looking more and more like we're on our way to dropping to the giants as well. Delmas just attempted to launch himself at a receiver like a missile and BADLY hurt a teammate in the process.

The more I'm watching, the more the way Delmas plays frustrates me. He's just screaming to get called for personal fouls all day.
