RE: Accept Bowl Bid Thread
UTSA 7-5, FAU 6-6 are out.
I'm guessing the 4 6-6 SB teams-USA, Troy, TX St., La-Monroe are out.
Haven't heard anything on MAC's Toledo 7-5, CMU 6-6.
Nothing on SJSU 6-6.
WKU at 8-4 is probably out.

That would be the 10 extra schools (80 qualified for 70 slots). Only other schools without guaranteed slots are 3 in ACC and 2 in Pac 12. They probably will find slots.

It's official. Toledo (7-5) will be staying home this bowl season. Extremely dejected group of players leaving practice today.

No Toledo.

No Toledo.

Toledo beat both Buffalo and BG who Ohio lost to by large margins.

Toledo lost its last game of the season against Akron by 2 points and that is what did them in while Ohio to the woodshed against UMass.

Ohio I think had more story lines. Solich with this game is attempting to become the first MAC coach ever to win 3 bowl games. Traditionally MAC coach will win a bowl and usually they are gone to another program.

Ohio also has a shot at beating its 3 CUSA school of the year. We may be the first to ever go 3-0 in the non-conference against CUSA if the school can get past East Carolina.

Might as well go ahead and make all the other games official now that they let McMurphy report that.

RE: Accept Bowl Bid Thread
Quote:"Ohio University football has a 100-plus year tradition," said Brett Dulaney, Executive Director of the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg. "We look forward to hosting the Bobcats and their alumni and fans, many of which also reside in Florida."

"We are very honored and excited to be invited to the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl in St. Petersburg," said Jim Schaus, Ohio Director of Athletics. "The bowl has a national reputation of doing things first class and taking great care of the participating teams. I am ecstatic for our team, coaches, fans and university. These opportunities benefit our program and in so many ways. We can't wait to get to St. Pete!"

Ohio (7-5, 4-4), will be looking for its third win over a C-USA team this season. The Bobcats had back-to-back games with C-USA schools in early September defeating North Texas 27-21 and then Marshall 34-31.

"The Ohio University football program could not be more excited for an opportunity to compete in the 2013 Beef O' Brady's Bowl," said Ohio University head coach Frank Solich. "The location of this bowl in St. Petersburg, Fla. is a tremendous destination for our players, coaches and fans to close out the year. I believe our program has shown a great deal of consistency with this being our fifth-consecutive bowl appearance."

It sounds like Ohio sold Beef O'Brady on its alumni base and its also 4 hours closer to St. Petersburg.
