No announcement yet. Expected, but still unknown. Tweet from HOD says they won't announce until tomorrow.

Nah. It's been so long since we have been to a bowl, we are hoping for a local game so we can bring a big crowd. We will take whatever, but a local game would be nice.

LOL! your wrong for that, but it's funny.
North Texas wants to play in the Heart of Dallas. We are just hoping the BIG 1O only gets 1 team into the BCS, and has a team to fill the bowl. We will see.

Is that official, because I've heard Oklahoma to the Orange Bowl too. The extra BCS spots could go to any of these teams. Alabama 11-1, Oregon 10-2, Ohio State 11-1, Clemson 10-2, and Maybe Oklahoma 10-2.

RE: UNT and HoD?
Oklahoma will likely get picked over Oregon because of traveling fan base. Bolded are the permanent bowl tie-ins.
Fiesta: UCF v Baylor
Sugar: Bama v Oklahoma/Oregon
Orange: Clemson v Ohio State
Rose: Stanford v Michigan State
MNC: Auburn v Florida State
Orange might be interesting. With FSU in title I don't think they are obligated to take Clemson from the ACC.

RE: UNT and HoD?
I'm hearing rumors that North Texas received an invitation to the HOD, and the bowl already knows who the other team is. They just want to keep it quiet until the Bowl Selection Show tonight.
With Ohio State probably getting into a BCS game, it seems the other HOD team will come from the ACC. Looks like either Syracuse, Pitt, or Boston College. If it doesn't leak some time today, we will find our tonight.

Hell ya! Pitt would be the least desirable of that group but beats playing Toledo.

I'm still holding out hope that Ohio State gets stiffed and doesn't get a BCS game. I'd prefer to play Michigan.

Now you're starting to sound like an ECU fan.
No matter the draw, great bowl game in your back yard that will do wonders for your recruiting.

We need an opponent who will bring fans. I don't see Boston College or Syracuse being those kind of schools. Any Big 10 school would because (among other reasons) most all of them have many alums living here in the North Texas Metroplex.
HOD Bowl officials based on our past bowl traveling fans numbers, their bowl officials coming to our last 3 home games at Apogee as well seem to think we will bring 25,000+ fans. At $75 per ticket, I hope they are right.
I think UNT will do some creative financing to make it cheaper for our students much like Texas Tech did for theirs a few years ago when they were at the HOD Bowl game. (How many of yall had an extra $75 in your billfolds back in your student days)?
Fact is, North Texas officials across the board are hoping this will be a giant "wake up" event for many of our over 200,000 (and long time no see) DFW UNT alums that our school has done (IMHO) a poor job keeping in contact with truth be told. On the other side of that coin and because of our mobile society any school's alums need to do their best to keep their alma mater informed of their new mail addresses, too.

Like every fan base, most ECU fans on this board are fair minded people. Don't let the few delusional ECU fans form your opinion.
And, don't get me wrong, I'll be very glad if we go to the HOD and play a team like Syracuse, or Boston College.
