Anyone know why the tix sold through the link say they are for Sections 110 through 128, when we are supposed to be sitting on the West Side, which would be more like sections 101 to 110 and also 130 to 132?

I think it's reading "128-110" as left to right on the seating map.

That makes sense perfect sense. Sections 128-132 and 101-110. But it doesn't really matter anyway if you buy from Rice. You don't choose your own section, rather Rice does it for you according to donor level.

so... anyone know exactly where I am if I'm in Section GA1, Row GA3? Is that general admission? if so, then how are there assigned seats?

That is just a temporary place holder until seats are assigned.

President's Gala event in Memphis... Anyone know if this is a Rice/Leebron event? I'm assuming yes? Or is this a president of something else?

I don't think so. This looks like a Liberty Bowl event. It likely refers to the president of the bowl game executive board.

Baylor is doing a student package to the Fiesta Bowl. For $150 they get bus trip, bowl ticket, one nights lodging, and pregame event. I think an alum subsidized it. The have already booked 1000 and opened up more this morning. One ticket per student, must have student ID. Seems like something Rice should do, if they aren't already.

Agreed, although the issue is that this will only target people that are already in driving distance from Rice. Everyone that flew home for the winter break is going to have to book a ticket from their home to Memphis and back, which is probably going to preclude a lot of people from attending, if they don't have cash saved up from a summer/on-campus job/other source. This is a great idea however, and we should definitely attempt to emulate this on a small scale.

Good point. I hadn't considered that fact that Baylor is much more Texas-centric than Rice.

Exactly. We drove to New York and back in 5 days over winter break just to see Letterman (it was actually going to be a dual-purpose trip but one of our purposes was cancelled). And only one night was spent indoors (on the floor at a friend's house in Erie PA)... the other three were spent either driving all night or outside on Broadway in line for space-available tickets.

There is no excuse for anyone not to make the game. NONE. The drive to Memphis can be done in a day but two days is probably ideal. Memphis is also a fun place to visit. History is being made and all should go experience it. Hell, I did not even go to Rice. I graduated from UT but always admired Rice about their high academic standards. If I can go, every Rice student and alumni should go. The only beef I have is why didnt the athletic dept or some group at Rice start organizing buses to go to Memphis from Houston immediately after it was announced Rice was going to the Liberty bowl. I hope the new AD has noticed this one flaw.

Here's an interactive seat chart so you can determine about where you'll be sitting.

Click the "interactive" link and use the + sign ( upper left corner ) to zoom in for your row.
