Probably puts them in the BCS in either Orange or Sugar. Knocks Oklahoma St definitely out. Baylor/Texas winner in Fiesta to play UCF, loser out. Probably knocks Oregon out as well.

Texas Baylor is going to be a must watch.

RE: That's the Oklahoma magic
so, to me here's a chart of the title game based on the ACC/Big Ten games-
FSU/Ohio St win- they play in title game.
FSU/MSU wins- FSU/SEC champ in title game
Duke/Ohio St wins- Ohio St/SEC champ in title game
Duke/MSU wins- SEC champ/Alabama in title game

That was a fun game to watch. First stage is complete. Second stage is for Baylor to lose to Texas.

what's that to get Michigan St into the title game? No chance, Alabama would go over them. Problem for MSU is the computers- Alabama would be way ahead of them.

No, sorry I think bigger than just what is best for The Big Ten. Michigan State is going to lose to Ohio State anyways. You may not believe that but I do and have been adamant about it so I'm not sure why you think the above is the thought process I was having.

Big 12 isn't going to the Orange. Sugar is more likely.

If it's just to get Michigan St into the Rose Bowl- the Oklahoma game hurts them. Oklahoma will move ahead of a 2 loss MSU team, while OSU will remain ahead of them(they were 4 slots ahead). The Baylor game is important- but the game that is huge to me is Stanford/Arizona St. If Arizona wins that game at home, both Stanford(who was 3 slots ahead already), and ASU are ahead of them. The question will be do voters/computers keep them ahead of LSU.

It's possible. If Michigan St beats Ohio St pretty badly, I could easily see the Orange taking Oklahoma(with all their past history in the Orange) over a Ohio St team.

If OU gets into the top 14 and MSU falls out, then OU is going to the Rose Bowl.

If Michigan State gets absolutely blown away then the polls might knock them out of the top 14 but if they are ranked at least 14th then they will make it to the Rose Bowl.

I don't really care either way though. That wouldn't be a Rose Bowl pitting the Big Ten champ versus the PAC champ. That is what the tradition is. The PAC champ playing the second place Big Ten team is not traditional and really doesn't matter to me. I almost would rather seeing a different match up than that. Of course the Big Ten would be best served with Michigan State making it to the Rose Bowl if they lose but I don't sweat the small stuff.

This is the end of the BCS era. Ohio State making it to face Florida State is the bigger deal. The SEC not making it all is the icing.

I can't think of a single reason why you would take Oklahoma ahead of Ohio State. OSU is one of the most watched teams in the country.

History. Also, you wonder with Ohio St if their fans may stay at home if they lose tonight, disappointed from not making the title game.

I don't think they have to get blown away
teams they won't be ahead of no matter what with a loss
1 FSU
2 Ohio St
3 Auburn
4 Missouri
5 Alabama
6 South Carolina
7 Oregon
8 Clemson

teams they will be almost certainly behind based on what happened today or prior location in the polls.
9 Oklahoma St
10 Oklahoma
11 Stanford

variable teams(teams MSU should be rooting against)
12 Baylor
13 Arizona St

And the one team that could pass them with a loss. LSU Right now #15. I'd kind of think from a computer standpoint, a very important game is the SEC Title game- rooting for Missouri.

That's worth the risk. If they decide to stay at home they'll watch on TV.

I really think Orange Bowl history is a major factor for them. Getting Oklahoma for 1st time in about 10 years would be huge for them. It's a lot closer than you would think.

If you were comparing Oklahoma to Mich St I would be inclined to agree. Ohio State is one of the top 5 properties in all of college football.

And Oklahoma is in the top 10 properties, if not higher. Given that it's the last time the Orange could get Oklahoma for at least 12 years- I think that would be taken into account.
