I never said we would roll Rice. I am surprised how much better they are than ECU.

We did get a little screwed on hosting.

Stop posting pictures of pre-game crowds. Anybody with an ounce of gameday experience would realize most fans don't filter into the stadium - wherever you are - until something like the first half of the first quarter. Puh-lease.

Maybe need to consider indoor neutral site like the MAC. (although attendance isn't very good for that kind of set-up, either).

We don't have a enough fans for a neutral site. Only the P5 conferences really have enough fans that will go to a neutral site. The main reason the MAC moved their championship game to a neutral site was because they had a few years on subfreezing temperatures in a row. We don't need an indoor championship game in a neutral stadium because of one cold year.

Wasn't all the years that Marshall had the MAC champ game based on bids rather than by record? I thought I once read that on here.

My favorite part is how the stadium is 90% empty, yet all of the Rice fans sit at the 10-15 yard line. 01-wingedeagle

This point has been drug through the mud 400 times - but, again, that is the student section on the visitors side. Our fans sit on the other side.

And also, you lost.

The American football media contract is still under the old Big East contract for this football season, however, it won't be a downgrade ahead.

Their new contract has even better exposure. The new tv deal for next year will have 2-3x as many national broadcasts for the conference on ABC, ESPN, or ESPN 2, and every conference game will be broadcast somewhere. What they didn't get in money, they are sure going to get with a chance to be seen.

Bud, your sadly sadly mistaken if you really think the AAC is going to get 2-3x more coverage for conference games next year on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2. Haha. While they might technically have more coverage on the ESPN networks, 60% of the games are going to be on ESPN3 and another 25% will be on ESPNU. Meaning 15% will be on the prime networks of ESPN and ESPN2, with 11am start times. And I'll be highly surprised if they get more then 1 or 2 games all year on ABC.

But your free to say whatever you want.

You are wrong

but to answer your comment, you're looking at the student section. CUSA rules state:
Quote:Student Seating. Host institutions shall refrain from seating students in the first 15 rows behind the visiting team area between
the 25-yard lines.

Those empty sections beside them are where the Marshall fans would go if it were a game for which they'd had time to plan their travel.

Banker...We will never know if ECU is worse than Rice or not since we did not play...but..They damn sure deserved to host....they damn sure were the better team today and they damn sure deserve to represent the conference in the LB. They are a class institution and should be admired due to their academic standards and small size. It is quite an accomplishment IMO coming from the second smallest school in major college football.

Dude, according to wiki, your stadium only holds 15k.

You realize ours holds 72k, and even 47k with the tarps.... and our concourses are massive and were packed (much warmer than the seats)

The students get one section... the basically packed section you were looking at all game long and the rest would have been for Marshall fans. Don't blame Marshall at all... long way and short week, plus the weather... but that is the reality.

Tickets sold was over 20,000... which I believe beats last years game at Tulsa which was 17k.

Tell you what Charlotte, when you host the championship and sell 20k seats to an uncomfortable game, you can talk.

Until then...
