Nobody except FSU fans have any interest in watching FSU's future NFL thugs beat up on Duke's future stockbrokers, CIA analysts, and lawyers for FSU's NFL thugs. And ultimately, it's the entertainment factor that matters to the networks.
Really? Except that the actual scheduling done by the Networks says otherwise.
Now personally I think it is the SEC and Big Ten Championship games that matter most to the Networks and we see they did not schedule them against each other. ESPN did not schedule the ACC Championship against the SEC Championship as they know it would get rocked. They scheduled it after it so that they could get the regional viewership with both the PAC and ACC championships at the same time.
I actually think the scheduling this year was pretty smart from the perspective of the Networks. I am not sure why you are trying to argue the point from the perspective of the Networks when they did something different than what you are saying they would do. Perhaps I am not understanding the perspective you are trying to portray in regards to the conversation that has been happening in this thread.
The perspective I am portraying in this thread is that CBS schedules the SEC title game whenever it wants and then even mighty ABC/ESPN schedules around it, even if that means piling up all the others at the same time.
Ahh, yeah I cant really argue against that opinion at all. Seems to pretty much be the case.

I didn't watch the SEC game or the Texas/Baylor game. I haven't watched a minute of the Big Ten game.
I watched a little of the ASU/Stanford game and a bit of the Rutgers/USF game (to see who ND may play in the Pinstripe).

I shocked myself by actually watching the shootouts or whatever they are called, and liked it.

I'm a little ticked off on the game scheduling
I hate penalty kicks but we won the US Open Cup last year and MLS this year on penalty kicks so I need to embrace them.

Just a note on the SEC afternoon time... CBS has programmed every Southern soul to cease and desist from all activities at 3:30 EST every football Saturday and watch whatever they present to us. I think Fox should do the same thing with their premiere PAC game and always have it at 6:30 EST. Build a culture for must see TV.
