Considering I haven't seen him move his one arm in any video, photo, public appearance or any of that, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he's done.

Tight spirals are overrated. Peyton Manning is known for not throwing tight spirals.

Dunno, I'd hate to try to judge him by watching his scout team snaps in a year that he's sitting out.

I feel pretty good about him and Coney actually.

injured and redshirting this year I believe
If Chisum returns, we are stacked at receiver. Chisum, McKay, Shaq, Morrison, Cole,

TT said in early October Chisum would be redshirted due to injury. He is definitely still with the team, I believe he was wearing his jersey over his street clothes Thursday.

How do you "ground and poun

I was just having a conversation this morning about how stacked we are at WR next year and forgot about Holton. Coney had a lot of buzz in the spring and training camp but has looked awful in very limited playing time. Hopefully it's just a product of extremely small sample size because we are insanely talented at WR for the next couple seasons. Real disappointed to hear these reports that Kiel isn't impressing in practice.

Also makes me wonder about our style of play. TT mentioned in his post game that it's hard to wear teams down without a big running back, I hope he's not intending to go back to ground and pound next year with our most talented group being the WRs. Now if he wants to add that as an additional option to an offense that gets the ball in the hands of its playmakers then I'm all for it.

How do you "ground and pound" when you have a 158 pound RB continually running up the middle. One of the big disappointments of this season was overusing RDA in situations where he proved ineffective and was very likely to be ineffective given his lack of size. Green and Williams got too few touches in my view. And RDA did not have a good year as a kick returner either. And his blocking was overrated from what I could see. Great kid but had a very subpar season.

Hopefully Green will learn to pass protect and continue to learn the system this off season. If he does I look for him to have a monster season next year.

Ask any college receiver, tight spirals are a LOT easier to see in the college game. Peyton doesn't need to throw spirals because there are no stripes on the balls in the NFL, but in college, throwing spirals gives receivers a pretty significant white circle to center on while trying to catch throws.

Agreed. Green has all the tools to be our feature back and get 20 carries a game. I also hope Williams really works hard this season to get in better shape. He's really improved this season and can play a bigger role in the offense.

So the scout team spends its time preparing the 3s and 4s???

They run 1's v. 1's for half of every practice, then transition to scout teams.

Right...

Right...

How many practices did you watch this year? I went to about 75% of them and didn't see you up there...

I would guess that Chad and/or Tim Adams made it to quite a few.

I know what I've seen...unless there are clones of everyone on our first team defense, they do walk through and matchups for at least an hour before they move to scout team operations. I apologize that I don't write for a website, and thus apparently have zero credibility to some people.

I am not arguing with your observations. I am just saying that the last part of your post is probably incorrect, since Tim usually showed up and probably Chad (i.e. GameTime_21) also.

I was there at least once a week for most of the season...

And don't forget JUCO WR Casey Gladney - he's our top rated recruit per ESPN. Incidentally, ESPN bumped our class past Houston up to 4th in the AAC behind UL, RU and USF.

That is just a stupid deep WR corps. If we go back to a pro-style next year, its all due to confidence in the QB.

So are you saying that, based on your observations, your assessment of UC's practices/Kiel's performance is different than BearcatMan's?

Didn't say one way or the other. Tough to make an eval when most of his work is with the scout team...
