Lynch magic …. not tonight

Big is the first team to force lynch to beat them passing by shutting down his run. He can't make the throws without the run threat.

Bad loss to Indiana reminds me of our 2004 ugly loss to Minnesota but pull it together for MACC.

For those who went or just watched. The UT/BGSU game was probably our most entertaining game of the season. And UT looked like crud for 3 quarters but still pulled off a miracle drive for the win.

Hats off to BUGS OL for handling the Huskies DL when they know the run is coming. Falcons completely outplayed NIU in every facet of the game.

What a nightmare!!!!!!!!

Hopefully Campbell took some notes tonight on how to coach during a big game. Good game by BG, horrible choke job by NIU.

I would be devastated if I was a NIU fan.

When we had better teams, or teams I expected big things of, the losses really hurt.

At least Toledo can say they beat the MAC Champs, at their place, 4 in a row.

And the Huskie mascot went woof, woof, woroute. And there goes $8 million down the falcon's nest

I was surprised that NIU did not run Stingly more in the second half. He was barely a factor then again so was NIU's defense.

Oh, I'm sure that the MAC Office isn't very thrilled with the outcome.

Ive said it for the past few years when we have played niu-force them to beat us with their weakness, which is throwing the ball. No way niu beats us pAssing. I sure hope our coaches learn a lot from this season about strategizing. Should have been us in macc-period!

I was thinking the same thing. I guess if I were the commissioner and just lost $8 million I'd keep it short too.

O'Brien should absolutely require several things from Campbell:

1) An honest assessment of what went wrong--this season was worse than last season--marginally, but still worse (we lost to Akron).
2) An equally honest assessment of his staff, with some changes made.
3) Campbell should be required to work this off season with a "guru" of some sort--gonna cost the University some money, but he needs guidance from a former proven head coach. He did not show that he learned anything, and this WASN'T his first season as a head coach, so there should have been some growth evident.
4) A commitment that we will recruit some JUCO players at DB who know how to play pass defense and can step in right away next season. Did anyone else notice that Norrills went from 3rd Team All-Mac last season to no mention at all? Secondary was the biggest problem area on this team--fix it.

Yeah, but you know what--it should be about the best team winning, and apparently that's what happened tonight. You don't want it becoming about money. That's when bad things happen.

Where was the 8mil to come from, a BCS bowl appearance?

Every team that plays NIU knows this and tries to stop Lynch's runs. We did it in the first half-it's just not that easy. And Akron beat us- what makes you think NIU couldn't beat us with the passing game? BG played a great game and won. They are better than NIU. We're better than BG. NIU is better than we. Some teams just have another team's number.

BG came into this game and punched NIU smack in the nose right at the beginning of the game. They played with an attitude on defense. They basically looked right at them and said "I'm gonna kick your ass and there is nothing you're gonna be able to do about it" - and then did just that. We do the same thing for 2-3 quarters - then go and hide and just try to hang on. It's not the players - it's how they have been prepared.
