STR: Top 25 Scare
Winning is hard.

Missed 3 at buzzer gives No. 24 SDSU win

24 SDSU 32 33 65
USD 32 32 64

Quote:SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State's first game back in The Associated Press Top 25 was almost a loss in a spirited tussle with its scrappy crosstown rival.

Xavier Thames made four free throws in the final 12.2 seconds, and No. 24 San Diego State escaped with a 65-64 win against San Diego on Thursday night after Duda Sanadze's 3-point shot bounced off the rim as time expired.

"From my angle, I thought it was going in," SDSU coach Steve Fisher said. "He had a pretty clean look. He's a good shooter, and we had good fortune when it did not go in."

I really do not care about STR or NTR posts, but I am curious....what makes this STR?

I thought about using NNTR - Not Necessarily Tiger Related, but that would spawn its own questions.

SDSU is a ranked program. We're a ranked program.

Of course, we're not worthy of our ranking (according to some half-empty folks.)

There's a fine line between being ranked and not.

Sometimes we need to be reminded of that.

S = San Diego state , T = Terrible , R = Ranking .

I dont mind reading about them because they are a top team . With that being said this may not be the right forum though . Not that it bothers me .07-coffee3

We would be over the top good if we had landed Josh Davis.

Fail, NTR. You left out they're both basketball teams.

Already over the top good. Davis is a great rebounder though. If he would take minutes away from Nichols or Shaq it wouldn't be worth it.

Yes, he would. It would have been an absolutely fantastic situation.
But, as you said, we're plenty damn good now.

If you're asking what STR stands for, I think it is Somewhat Tiger Related.

Why is it every time I see SDSU, I immediately think South Dakota State University?
