Notre Dame is trying to move one of their ACC matches from 2014 to 2015 to get down to 12 games.

Good. Any chance we get them to come to Rice Stadium in the future? Maybe a 2-1? I remember my dad saying that they played here back in the late '70s or around that time.

Would love to see them be the opponent when the renovated HRS is first opened.

My grand vision is that JK will see the energy and funds that our alumni base has after we win a conference championship and second bowl game in two years, and he puts the pedal to the metal.

Renovations are drawn up and finalized within a few months, and they break ground by the start of the summer, and finish with the portion that affect the stadium but the first game next year. We then have a fully refurnished and rejuvenated stadium by 2015.

1973, Which was the first game Tommy Kramer started and drew 50,000. We played there in 1974.

1973

Yep. A game in which Al Conover had the local Houston priests sit on the Rice bench!

Right. Free sideline passes to any priest wearing priestly garb. About 20 attended, iirc.

1973

1974: TK was injured and Claude Reed QB'd the Owls. Rice took an early 3pt lead on an Alan Pringle FG. Game may have been one of the best performances of an OWL defense in the unlimited substitution era. It was a 3-3 tie until about 2min in the 4th QTR when Cornelius Walker had to leave the game with mult. broken ribs.

Final was 10-3.

The week before LSU tied Rice 10-10 as time expired with a FG.

We should do that for tomorrow's game against Marshall, just in case. Invite all of the religious leaders in the city. 03-wink
