Exclamation AAC Bowls go final, CUSA opponents in some years:
http://theamerican.org/news/2013/12/5/FB...34743.aspx

Interesting... and offers some insight on who CUSA could be seeing in some years in certain bowls as well.

So basically MAC, Belt, AAC, and C-USA will share many of the ESPN owned bowls.

To be honest, I thought you guys would do better than that. Not what I expected. You do have some nice secondary agreements though.

To be fair, ESPN has what a 90% ownership in the number of bowl games anyway?

And it would take the market penetration of a ESPN to make them work versus a CBSSN, a NBCSSN, a FOX Sports Net Family (not FOX Network), ect... to get the tv money good enough to break it up.

You can tell losing the Liberty Bowl was NOT part of the plan...but I also can't blame the liberty bowl...SEC v Big 12 is a good line-up

That said, it's a decent line-up...6-7 bowls per season, best we can hope for.

They get 2 to 4 matchups with P5 schools a year. I'd say they are slightly ahead.

Not by much though. I like our destinations better than some of the ones they have. To me that makes it a wash.

We have 6 to 7 bowls EVERY year for 12 teams CUSA has 5 to 6 bowls every year for 14 teams. AAC has 3 backup deals CUSA has one. Any other questions?

I think the AAC's bowls might be ever so slightly better, but not enough that it's worth bragging about. I'd argue that Ban Ban with the schools he had to work with did a much better job in this area than Aresco did with the schools he had to work with. As an ECU fan at least most of the bowls are on the east coast. The Military is one I wouldn't mind going to any year we are in it just because of proximity and then the 3 games in Florida I might would attend depending on date and matchup.

RE: AAC Bowls go final, CUSA opponents in some years:
I've been piecing this together through the many conference releases. The only thing that isn't confirmed is which other two years we have New Orleans, but it's pretty easy to see which two years we need that fifth slot (2016 and 2017). See the image below. We'll get Independence either every year, at least 4-5 times.

Like I posted on the AAC board...all this announcement really means to me is that if my Tigers get to 6-6...we will make a bowl game...so that's cool with me.

12 teams...6-7 bowls per season...3-4 P5 match ups per season...I'm down with that.

I like the AAC lineup better, only because they have half their bowls against P5 teams. Whats CUSA have 1-3? They also have a good point that they are guaranteed 6 bowls+ a year. CUSA will do that well most seasons too, but its not guaranteed.

I think the AAC overall has a better bowl situation. Not by a bunch though. Having 3 backup roles is great except the backup to the Liberty will likely never kick in. The Liberty gets the 4th B12 choice and gets an SEC ahead of the Birmingham and Shreveport bowls. Interesting that C-USA already announced it has a backup role in Shreveport and now the AAC does too. Is the AAC backing up the backup there? Poinsettia is a nice backup and you will likely get to use that one fairly often I would think.
