BOWL GAME
So the foregone conclusion is since the Fiesta Bowl has the last at-large selection, then they will be left with NIU..

But I think if NIU does well enough, NIU could go sugar bowl over UCF

RE: BOWL GAME
no, not with UCF's ability to travel...maybe if you were playing NCAA 14 this would happen.

If UCF loses & Cincy wins then maybe, but that's still a big maybe.

I think we have a shot if Auburn wins and Lynch has a heck of a MACC.

RE: BOWL GAME
I think it's possible if UCF loses (dropping them out or near out of the rankings) and Bama goes to the Sugar (which will fill up the Superdome by itself), but that would require the Orange passing on Bama (assuming FSU beats Duke). My understanding is Mizzou travels terribly and although Auburn has more alums than Bama, Bama carries 90% of the casual fans in that state (although it might've been different 20-30 years ago).

Talk about bowl game is 1 1/2 days too premature. We need to win the MACC first.

Dude's (or dude'ette) just asking a question, which doesn't hurt the team at all. Relax.

Just trying to soften that loud thud when these guys hit the bottom of the canyon after the jump if we lose tomorrow.

Oh yeah, that question will be the reason for the disappointment.

So you're deciding that the Orange Bowl doesn't want Alabama...one of the best traveling fan bases in the country and a top five team. Yeah.

The Orange bowl will have between AL, UCF and The P12 loser or Oregon to choose from. Al is by far the best pick with UCF as second best...that is a big drop in fanbases.

If its FSU/OSU in the NCG and Mi St stays in the top 14...then it will be Clemson vs AL in the OB.

This is the pick order...
NCG - FSU/OSU

Automatic picks
Orange - Clemson
Rose - MI St
Rose - Stanford
Sugar - Auburn/Mizzu
Fiesta - B12

At-large/small time AQs
Orange - Alabama
Sugar - UCF/NIU
Fiesta - NIU/UCF

In this senario if Al says no to the Orange Bowl then tey would go to the Fiesta Bowl and NIU would go to the Sugar Bowl.

First off, Alabama will not refuse the Orange Bowl.

Second, UCF is fourth behind Bama, or any PAC 12 team.

I showing why AL wouldn't turn down the OB from the quoted comment.

Stanford went to the OB in 2011. their fans did NOT travel well, that game had 7k less in attendance and the TV ratings had 2mil viewers less than our game. UCF would at least give the OB some ticked demand.

It's bad karma! You make it sound like it's a foregone conclusion ... one step at a time. NIU's track record in Detroit isn't that great and all it takes is a lucky break for a BGSU program hell bent on wrecking things. Take care of business and you still have plenty of time to speculate.

Mizzou hasn't had a big bowl game in I don't know when, if ever. I would think they would travel pretty well for a BCS game.

Karma isn't real, and since people realize there are future events, they are sometimes (oftentimes) curious about them.

There were threads all year bemoaning the BCS standing and voters bias...because....people...were worried...about something WAY in the future, that may never have happened. How come those didn't beat NIU?

People speculate about events they have no control over and it doesn't give them control over them.
