You can be a fan and be critical. I see an underachieving team.

Sorry, don't agree. Strong's recruiting > CBJ's recruiting. U of L has a deeper, more athletic squad with a blue hen qb, and it all began to tell as the 4th Q went on.

This team underachieved. The schedule sucked. 9-3 is fine but it is still underachieving IMO when you factor in UC's talent compared to everyone else on the schedule. Strong's recruiting might have been a little better than CBJ's but UofL also has a way bigger recruiting budget and better facilities to sell so that shouldn't be surprising at all. With that said this roster at UC is pretty stacked. Jones left the cupboard pretty full from a talent standpoint.

Agreed. I didn't think there was much of a talent difference outside of Bridgewater (and we have a damn good QB on our sideline too) and Davante Parker. We had no answer for Parker and Payne just couldn't hang with him. This felt like a pretty evenly matched game but Louisville just had the intangibles that we didn't. I felt in my gut the whole second half that Louisville was just going to make the one play that we couldn't that would pull it out for them. Pretty much like last year's game.

I actually thought we had the better talent over all. Especially on the lines. There were just way too many opportunities to finish Louisville off that weren't taken advantage of. Our defense choked in the fourth. Seeing a sub 200 lb quarterback shrug off several arm tackles by our 250 lb linebackers was extremely frustrating. I want to blame the loss on the playcalling, but the fact is the skill players just didn't execute.

Not sure what offensive line you were watching, but UC's line played horribly. UL rushed 4 the whole night, and they struggled badly.

UC's D line was on roller skates, pushed around a ton. UL's backs had huge holes to run through. Won't even comment on tackling, enough said about that already.

More talented? Not sure, but outplayed, yes.

It looked to me that Kay had plenty of time to throw all night. And we ran pretty well when we went to the big backs. Kay wasn't picking up the open receivers early... and made some pretty horrible late decisions in the first half. Our running backs did a pretty good job of picking of blitz packages too. But who knows, maybe I was watching a different game.

I thought Kay operated under duress most of the night. Had happy feet for good reason. And other than the bad throw off of his back foot for the 2nd int, thought he was very, very good.

Going to be hard to replace him.
