Dear UAB fans, and StillJonesing.

Your constant feuding back and forth has gotten to the point where you ruin just about every basketball thread that starts on this board.

Out of consideration for others, please consider starting your own thread, and maintain your childishness there, or...perhaps you could grow up.

Says the stalker that followed me over here from another board. 122 post in a year and a half I can bet you half of them are in response to something about me, trying to get me banned or other nonsense like this. Thank you for your valuable opinion. 03-2thumbsup.

Paranoid much?

It stops being fun baiting a person when you realize that a person has serious mental issues.

It took K 9 years to get to an NCAA as a coach, and he never got there at Army.

1983–84 Duke 24–10 7–7 T–3rd NCAA Second Round

UAB would have been ready to ride him out by year 4 if not sooner.

The difference is Coach K wasn't a well known commodity at Duke. He was still up and coming. Coach Davis was a known, we hired him as that known, and we fired him because he was still that known. I am not going to sit here and blast Davis and say he doesn't have a clue what he's doing, because that isn't the case. But, for all the things he did right, he also did a lot wrong. Just look at how many players we lost under his watch. Look at his record in big games. Look at his adjustments in game. Look at his abilities to get the best out of his players. Also, what was Duke before Coach K? We gave Davis 6 years, and he gave us 2 of our worst seasons in history.(and was at the very least partially responsible for the team Haase had last year-your boy was still calling our players trying to cause problems when Haase took over, did you know that) On the court success is not everything, and Davis lacked in a lot of areas.

and I'm sure there were talks of running Coach K out of town in 83-84

Davis had 6 years and his coaching style and recruiting had made our program stale.

only 1 NCAA play in game in 6 years. Recruiting and APR failure. 2 losing seasons when UAB had only ever had 1 before that.

I'm pretty sure you don't realize he wasn't even recruiting a single forward on last years team. We had 3 guard commits and not a single forward. Ovie Soko at 6'8 would have played Center and we would have had a 4 guard lineup. Ovie would foul out on almost a nightly basis too.

In today's game coaches need some time to recruit some players. When Major came to Charlotte he only had time to pick up a couple of players before his first season. Both of those were gone later because one wanted to play in Europe and the other was a problem. We have had some pretty good recruits and transfers since then and now Charlotte is back on the climb. Many Charlotte fans wanted Major gone, but I think most now think he has been good for the program. That could change if we have a meltdown this year, but we have a lot of talent for next season already. Point is that coaches need 3 to 4 years to show what they can do.

Kellogg at UMass is a good example of giving a coach time to implement his system and get players in.

Kellogg looked like a disaster of a hire until 2 years ago and now he's very likely to lead them to their first NCAA tournament in 15 years, a top 20 ranking, and maybe an A10 title.

It takes a while to get your guys in place and to get the hang of being a head coach. For some guys, that comes naturally, but for others, it can take a few years of experience.

Sometimes more depend on the what has to be done. In our case, it isn't just a straight forward rebuild. It a ground up start over when you rely look at it. But, we have thrown lots money behind it. We seen the improvement, but we do know there is a ways to go. I can't help, but look forward to next year. Yes, I'm still all in for this year, but I know and have seen what's waiting on the end of that bench and what we have signed for next year and I'm drooling.

Really think that Lebo has done a really nice job of patching together teams since he has been here by any , and every way possible, Jucos, transfers etc. But this yrs freshman have become the new foundation of ECU basketball. Take Stith, and White (Also think Alexander will be a player down the road). Add in the 2 new recruits, Tajeda and Bryant. Assume that Guilmette will redshirt and be classified as a soph next yr, and I believe Ngeze will be a RS Soph next yr.

Pretty solid foundation to add to.
