Idiot Hub
So goofy Hub Arkush, who I just started liking after years of thinking he is an idiot is at it again. Says the Heisman can be from any college program, it doesn't need to be D1. Hub - NIU is D1 FBS!!!!

Also say NIU couldn't beat many Big 10 teams. Ridiculous.

He also brings up NIU getting "destroyed" against FSU. It really is too badwe couldn't have kept it under 10 points then these idiots would have to come up with something else.

People are going to bash NIU. Are we really going to post a new thread every time NIU is bad mouthed? You'd think we'd be used to it already.

RE: Idiot Hub
As long as we understand that the guys on the radio that pretend to be experts don't know any more, actually less than many of us on this board, about NIU, then we're okay with it. The overconfidence of these so-called experts is a little annoying to me, as might be indicated by my signature line. Which seems to have disappeared (?)

I am not sure of the context he used, but I doubt he was being negative. Guessing he was just trying to say "why not Lynch" Why? He is CORRECT, there is NO stipulation of division, just "most outstanding college football player."

I remember Gordy Lockbaum being on SI with Bo Jackson and Chuck Long in 85. Doubtfully anyone from a lower level will ever win or come close, just for lack of exposure. 20+ years ago ever game was not available on cable, let alone it being before the internet. This is from Wiki.....

The closest that a player outside the modern Division I FBS came to winning the Heisman is third place; in both cases, the players involved played for schools in what was at the time Division I-AA, now Division I FCS. The first was Gordie Lockbaum from Holy Cross in 1987, followed by Steve McNair, from Alcorn State in 1993. Armanti Edwards, from Appalachian State University, was also briefly mentioned as a candidate for the award following Appalachian's upset of then #5-ranked Michigan in 2007.
