Is anyone here really sure they want that?
Or maybe no one cares about YOUR little fantasy?
Actually methanus, one poster said that a super conference might just be the future. He laid it all out in his comments but since your mind has been closed since she you squeezed through the tunnel of love, I won't expect anything other than the usual insipid responses you author.
Man, you certainly can't try to match your razor sharp wit.
If you think a conference like this has any possibility of forming in the future, you've deluded yourself.
Several things to come to mind here mathenis.
First and foremost is that this is a forum for fans who wish to get to together and talk about football and all topics related.
Since there are constant complaints here about the larger conferences boxing out the smaller ones in any number of ways, my thread was merely food for thought. No where did I say this was likely to happen but I will say that in some form, it could happen in the future. Who knows? A few years ago few predicted what the college football landscape looks like today.
When I joined here I read a thread on conference realignment in the SEC forum that was started back in 2004. I recall one poster saying something roughly similar to what you said above.....
you're deluding yourself if you think Texas A&M will ever be part of the SEC. Well?
On the C-USA forum, here's what one Houston poster said re my thread:
I don't think all those teams will be involved, but I do think that ultra big super conferences will be the future model for the most successful non-AQ conferences. It may even be what allows them to become AQ in a larger playoff system. Think of the current 5 power conferences along with 2 or 3 G5 super conferences in a 12 team playoff. Say a G5 East, Midwest, and Western conference---each with about 20 members. That could give you a 12 team playoff with every conference being AQ---plus 4 at large slots. I know 4 at-large slots is a little small, but the whole playoff is only 4 slots right now.
Now, that guy was a poster who took a few minutes, thought about the subject, and added something of value to the conversation. I appreciated his comments.
I've seen your comments mathenis in any number of threads here and recall very few that actually added anything of substance. Most were just uncalled-for insults. Now, friendly jabs at opposing fans are not only expected, but welcomed at a site like this. But would it really hurt you to try to say something intelligent or thoughtful every once in a while, or try to participate in a conversation?
