AAC could be the beneficiary. MWC has six bowls and, with SJSU beating FSU, 7 bowl teams. To open up a bowl slot, MWC is shopping Boise around. Taken from post on MWC board.

If true, to me, this pretty much indicates Notre Dame isn't going to the Poinsettia Bowl- their only option there would have been to play Boise....

MW commissioner has said they have received interest from non-MW bowls for Boise St. Could get interesting after this weekend. However, he did state it was highly unlikely to happen.

I can understand the bowls being interested with the Boise St brand still being strong but I would think the MWC contracted bowls would prefer BSU over SJSU. Might be some push back there.

Especially since the bowl in question likely(Poinsettia) has already lost their primary tie in with Army.

I would think there would be ALOT of push back. Don't these bowls have a selection order? Seems Boise would be one of the first teams selected. The leftover team is the one that typically gets shopped around. Maybe they are working a trade with another conference.

The Potato bowl had stated interest in SJSU. Previous BSU AD ties, David Fales final game.. feels like a good story line for them. Otherwise, SJSU gets left out.

Isn't the potato bowl like the last bowl on the pecking order? If so, 2 things- 1 how can they force another bowl to not get Boise, and 2- why don't they just select San Jose over whoever is left?

How would the AAC benefit? In a best case scenario the AAC fills all of it's slots. So SMU would have to beat UCF and Rutgers needs to beat USF. As bad as Rutgers has played down the stretch it seems just as likely the AAC has two bowls slots open as none.

Thompson has already said an eligiible MWC team will most likely not go bowling.
