The Big Ten is the better all around basketball conference. Yes, your Elite squads showed up big. That is all you have in the ACC though. The rest, not so much.
Both conferences are great BBall conferences. Last year it seemed are top teams were stronger but are middle and lower teams got beat by ACC. This year our top teams struggled against ACC but our middle and lower teams saved our goose. Wow I was really surprised to see how much Nebraska Fans have embraced their team and their new arena is impressive. The improvement in play and talent is night and day from when they first entered league. Penn State is improving but just doesn't feel like their fans are bought in.
Good luck getting that kind of rationality from most of the ACC folks around here. Many of them have this insane need to irrationally attack and falsely portray the Big Ten at every possible instance.
While Big Ten fans appreciate what the ACC accomplishes in basketball, they obviously have some type of neurosis that does not allow them to do the same. You will see this first hand if you stick around for awhile.

I know what you mean. The bottom line is when final four rolls around most likely you will see a team from both ACC & BIG in the mix. Old Big East always had a team or two as well.

But they haven't lost in two of those five either. So 10-3-2 overall.
I'll be very surprised if next year any of the BiG's Top 4 beat any of the ACC's Top 4. Wiscy will probably beat whatever team is deemed the ACC's #5 (probably Pitt or ND) and then the rest will split along who has home court advantage.
The ACC won the first 10 challenges (!!!) but then lost 3 in a row and split the last two. That shows the decline of ACC basketball over the past several seasons.
People say "football drives the bus", but the ACC takes special pride in its basketball, and I do not doubt that the invitations to Syracuse, Pitt, and Louisville factored their extremely strong basketball into the equation.
No question, with those additions, the ACC is now the #1 basketball conference again.

Not yet this year...as my B1G Buddy pointed out the middle/lower part of the ACC is hideous right now. Hopefully next year it isn't 5 Giants and 10 Dwarfs. I'm not impressed with the ACC about #7 or 8 and down.

I agree with the Iowa dudes. The Big Ten never gets a fair shake in the media or with fans of schools in other leagues. If only they had some sort of media representation on things like College Football Gameday and in seemingly every single broadcast booth.

I agree that BIG hasn't got any love in football. With Penn State trying to rebound from sanctions and Ohio State coming off sanctions we have been down for awhile. Michigan and Nebraska have not been as strong as in past. I do think Iowa, Michigan State, Wisky, Minn and Ohio State will make good showings in bowl games. To be honest I don't think the PAC 12 has got the respect like they should have this year. They are arguably the deepest football conference this year.
