If its sold out, the tickets can no longer be "going fast."

The student bus is sold out.
Free tickets for the students are going fast.

They should add more buses, even if they take it out of their pocket. Brining 250 odd students only is HORRIBLE.

I'm pretty sure they ended up opening up additional busses last year. Would be shocked if they didn't do the same this year. It's all part of the plan to get students to not wait til the last minute.

But when they see sold out, that thwarts them off. Not a good plan.

It sounds pretty clear that there will be no more buses.

Completely true

Need to think BIG PICTURE

Get a great rowdy crowd and eat the cost if need be...the BCS will pay you back almost immediately with win Friday

Same complaint for the normal buses to Detroit...charge like $25 and get 100 buses

Seems like Frazier is directing the students to the regular fan busses...that would be an odd dynamic as other than a kid or two I was easially the youngest on the bus in 2011.

@SeanTFrazier: @JimKurpiel71 we have had great demand, 5 student buses have sold out. Room is available on our fan bus through http://t.co/L1rihJhSst #NIU

This is absolutely stupid, they should have lined up 20 buses to begin with.

Agreed sounds fairly stupid if that's all they offer...I'd sincerely hope that they add more buses. The students will go if they do.

I would assume that they are saving their wad for a potential BCS game. It's Detroit. Drive with your friends. These are college kids, not grade school children.

What do BCS schools do for championship or bowl games?

It is not that hard for students to get to Detroit if they want to go. A car full of 4 people could be done for pretty cheap. Those who want to go will go.

+1, not everything should be put on the Athletic department.

I'd like to know more about the "interesting carpooling" mentioned at the end of the article.

Trains and buses run between Chicago and Detroit. They're not to expensive, but not as cheap as the student buses.

Yeah. That is what I am thinking. As mentioned, it doesn't cost that much for a group to drive. It would be MUCH more expensive to go to the Fiesta and spending money to get students there seems to be a better decision. Of course, if that is what they are thinking, they better hope we win the game.
