Shy Interesting realignment idea - **not a serious realignment proposal**
READ ME: Before anyone gets upset and says "OMG THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN! WTF!"
I know. I know, calm down. This is just for fun. I had some time to waste. I pretty much dissolved the AAC and spread the members into what would be the six most competitive conferences in college athletics.

A few notes:
Added the B1G schools only because of AAU - took nothing else into consideration. I know, it's flawed.
Added the PAC schools because I'd assume they would be okay with doubling up in two states that are football crazy. I really didn't want to leave UH and SMU in the dust.
Added the ACC schools because I know they are coveted additions and Swofford would do anything to get them. It's the way he's been taught to operate.
Added the MWC schools because I didn't think Tulsa would mind too much and that they would most likely work out a deal with BYU.
Took the rest of B12 and AAC and merged it (sans Navy).

Take a look:

Final remarks: I know there's a counter argument for every move. I know that several schools would not be pleased with this shuffle.

Something like this COULD (COULD, not WOULD)generate more interest from the moving fan bases, bringing in more eyeballs, merchandise sales, etc (if marketed right). Meaning a potential for more TV revenue across the board.I know all of the arguments against that statement as well, no need to shoot it down. The schools with high enrollment/Alumni population or in largely populated areas are tuning into the other conference games, traveling to away games, etc. I thought it was a flawed idea for the AAC, but throw UH into the PAC and suddenly a good amount of UH alumni rise form the dead/the city of Houston is boosting the Pac ratings because they're that much more interested, same for UCF/Orlando ECU/ENC...etc....

Anyway I know theirs a million different angles we could all argue and I've seen 999,999 of them on this board in the past few years. Just thought this would be an interesting alignment, I could not see it happening in my wildest dreams, but it's still interesting. 04-cheers

I made some of the text small because I know there are lots of counter arguments, and I'm not extremely interested in hearing them. Until something new comes out, we all know what's going to be said (it takes about 10 pages but eventually the same few things are repeated). The same info has been passed around for roughly a year now... we all know where the discussion heads. If you're interested it's there to read but I'm really posting this out of boredom...feel free to comment on the additions but I know what most of the comments will be, and I'm not here to defendthe addition to any of these schools into conferences.

Edit: as for the other FBS schools, I didn't really feel like shuffling them all around. Not sure who the new teams coming into FBS are... not really sure who should fit the criteria for FBS and is already in it. Maybe those are other things to be addressed.
