Reality Check
Not sure how many others of you out there have had a similar moment lately. I have had this recurring dream that NIU is heading to the Fiesta Bowl and that Jordan Lynch is in the running for the Heisman. Then I wake up and realize it is not a dream. We all need to really appreciate this season and ENJOY every minute of it.

RE: Reality Check
I almost puked today because I got so nervous thinking about what's on the line.

This is fun as heck but I hope the coaches and players are focused.

I don't want to know how nervous I'll be come game day Friday. As for now, I'm just trying to make it to Friday.

It's amazing that we're in this position. Let's not pull a Houston or Kent State.

I keep wanting to book this week for AZ, but holding off until this weekend. Big game this Friday, biggest of the year. Every game since Purdue has just been building and building in importance, Beat Bowling Green.

I like that RC has shut off media to players..(except MACC requirements I imagine.)

RE: Reality Check
I remember a couple of years ago on how I thought we matched up pretty good to Ohio. And then about puked and wanted to drive home at halftime down 20-0. Or even last year with the BCS on the line clearly controling the game until the fumble that flipped the momentum throwing us into an OT battle that ended up with D. Stone of all people making a play.

-3 at a neutral site does not have me feeling very cocky this year. For once I want to be up 21 at half with clear dominance on the field so I don't end up with an ulcer and no voice.

I wasn't at the MACC three years ago because I was confident we would be driving back to Detroit the next week. I don't take it for granted any more.

I will be there every time now.

Honestly I don't even know if you could've even dreamed this scenario in your wildest koolaid drinking NIU fan's mind. It would've been almost crazy to even think we had a realistic shot at one BCS game, let alone back to back and a potential Heisman trophy winner. It doesn't even seem real. We are all fortunate to have been fans during this time. I have not been nervous about a game all year after Iowa (In Lynch we trust). However, I am nervous as heck, not because I think we'll lose, just more with the excitement, etc than anything. Friday cannot get here soon enough. We are living in special times and I am just so happy to be able to be a part of it.

I am as nervous as I have ever been for any game. I have been to all of our MACC games (except one). I have reason to be nervous - very nervous. When I get to Ford Field, I will be checking on the location of the nearest defibralator - seroiusly.

I made a pretty big bet that would cover my BCS Bowl trip if they win so I'm doubly nervous.

If I lose I'll chalk it up as "Well I was going to spend the money on a BCS bowl anyway" 03-banghead

RE: Reality Check
I've had so much pure fun watching the past few years. Pure fun, no crazy outings or alot of beer. I just can't take this for granted, we are so fortunate. Never ever could imagine a run like this.

Hate to say it this way, but whatever happens Friday, i'm ok with it, we've had so much good luck! Anything else would seem greedy.

That said, let's kick their as$ !

RE: Reality Check
I thought I was over the nervousness after the 2011 MACC win - FINALLY. But last year in the first quarter against Kent State I noticed my heart beating fast. I thought, man, I better relax or I won't survive the game. This is crazy, I'm not even playing in the game. I don't feel nervous right now though. Probably not until just before game time.
