He still has been a workhorse & a very valuable part of the team.
Absolutely.
But I thought he was going to kill us with his poor shooting in the UNC game. Thankfully, his rebounding and aggressiveness made up for it and he did make a couple of big-time shots in the clutch when it mattered most.
I still don't know how he got that shot off and in when he was surrounded by 3 UNC guys who weren't fouling him. I think I watched it 3-4 times. Rucker might never make the NBA, but he seems like he could play for 10 years in Europe.

If he could ever develop any sort of jumper, he'd be deadly. He's *pretty good* as is..

He needs a little more arc on the ball. His shot is too flat to have a chance.

He likes to dunk the ball now.
I wish Washington will dunk the ball

RE: Northeastern
Northeastern's star player, Scott Eatherton 6-8 219 Jr., didn't play against UAB last year. It appears he transferred to Northeastern after playing two season for St. Francis PA. He had to sit out last season. Over the first seven games he has averaged 16.2 points, 3+ offensive rebounds, 7+ defensive rebounds, and 1.4 blocks. He has had at least one block per game except for the VCU game. He is foul prone, and had at least four fouls in all but the first game. He did foul out of the Charlotte game, after scoring 22 points. With points and rebounds, he has had five double-doubles so far, against good competition.
He is 44-71 (62%) from 2-point land, and 23-33 (69.7%) from the charity stripe.

RE: Northeastern
Quincy Ford, 6-8 212 Jr., scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds against UAB last season. Ford played the first two games of this season, but didn't play in the last five games. He has a bad back, and might be lost for the season.

I don't think he can very easily. The only time I've seen him dunk in action was with a sprint and running jump.

RE: Northeastern
Reggie Spenser, 6-7 210 Jr., scored 18 points against Georgetown. He scored 13 against UAB last year, and fouled out. Just like Eatherton, he gets to the foul line a lot, and is 18-29 (62.1%) so far. He had 6 ORs against Georgetown and 5 against Charlotte. He is second on the team in 2-pointers made (27-52 51.9%).
The top 3-point shooter for Northeastern is Demetrius Pollard, 6-2 200 Jr., 12-26 for 46.2%. David Walker, mentioned previously, is 10-27 (37%).
For UAB, regarding 3-point shooting, Frazier is 12-33 (36.4%), Washington is 10-24 (41.7%), Williams is 6-20 (33.3%), and Swing is 8-26 (30.8%).
As a team, UAB is only shooting 30.9% from behind the arc, while Northeastern is hitting 34.1%. Conversely, UAB is holding opponents to 27.6%, while Northeastern is giving up 36.1%. That 27.6% for UAB on defense is 35th best in the country.

I think they are better than their 2-6 record would indicate. Their schedule has been very difficult.
With tonight's game included, Northeastern has played five teams in the top 100. UAB has played three. They have played four teams in the top 50, UAB has played two.

RE: Northeastern
After only making 12 of 23 free throw attempts last night, Northeastern is now hitting 62.8% of their free throws for the season. That ranks 310 out of 351 schools.
UAB is at 72.4%, or 100th.
UCF is last (351) at 51.3%. Incarnate Word is #1 at 84.2%.
For Northeastern, David Walker is the exception. He is 16-19, for 84.2%.
Does anybody remember David Walker for UAB?

RE: Northeastern
Of the teams UAB has played so far, UNC has been the worst FT shooting team. UNC is hitting only 61.8% of their FTs, which is even worse than Northeastern. UNC ranks 320th in FT%.
