The MAC needs to partner up with another conference (or two) and cross-schedule. The ACC-Big Ten challenge has been great in getting good matchups, and the MAC ought to look to do something similar

This'll help each team with the strength of schedule - if the MAC's 1st place teams play another conference's 1st place, and 2nds vs 2nds all down the line, each team would be getting a good competitive game. It'll help see how competitive each team really is.

Kind of like the Bracket Buster program, now that the Bracket Buster thing is gone.

The Horizon League, or the Missouri Valley Conference would make sense competitively, and geographically. A lot of MAC teams play these teams already. It doesn't have to be a geographical match, either, the CUSA or an east coast league would work too.

It'll also help generate some publicity, give sportswriters something to write about, help showcase the league, etc

For NIU's sake, I suggest a MAC / MIAC Challenge.

NIU vs. Hamline
NIU vs. Carelton
NIU vs. Macalaster

This give NIU a better than even shot at going 2-1.

just don't schedule Nebraska-Omaha and you might be ok!
