OK:

NFL

Panthers fan / home team.
HATE: Cowboys and Raiders
indifferent on all other teams

NBA
*NONE* / Used to be the Hornets when they were in Charlotte
HATE: Knicks, Bobcats
indifferent on others however I've been known to pull for the Pacers, Thunder

NHL
Hurricanes / Home team and won a Cup.
HATE: Red Wings
indifferent on all others.... no strong feelings either way on others.

MLB and MLS, don't care enough to have a thought about any teams.

MLB: Braves, as I suffered through the late 70's ($1 outfield seats and only 1,000 in attendance) and the 80's (the "ghastly boys", Pete Falcone!, Murphy and Horner's decline) and am grateful for Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Bobby Cox, John Schuerholz and Frank Wren and all the success of the last 20 years.

NFL: boring, mutants, unwatchable

NBA: boring, mutants, unwatchable

NHL: used to Flames (but moved to Calgary- still have Tom Lysiak's autographed stick at home), a bit of Thrashers, rooted for Bruins and Rangers when Messier brought the cup back.

College: Rice, alma mater.
U Miami back in the 80's and 90's as they could actually beat the teams I disliked such as Notre Dame, Oklahoma, N3ebraskja, Michigan, oHIo state, Fla State, etc...

college Basketball: the underdogs in the ncaa tourney like Butler, VCU, Villanova when they beat John Thompson's Georgetown team for the title, NC State when they Beat Houston's Phi Slamma Jamma for the upset, etc....wish we'd figure out how to get in sometime, but it will be a few more years yet

college Baseball: 2003 National Baseball Champions Rice Owls thank you Wayne Graham for delivering a winning team and establishing a tradition of sports excellence to Rice

Bobsledding: have to go with the Jamaican Bobsled team, always!

Pulling for the Thrashers now that they are the Jets?

Miss hockey here in Atlanta. Grew up with season tix to Atlanta Flames- right side of net. Really something to see the players come right at you careening down the ice!

Thrashers not so much. Much more expensive tix and they never seemed to put it together as a team while here. Liked their blue alternate unis, though--one of the best designs.

Jets are mired in last place, in a division grouping with a lot of long road trips. Probably will watch the playoffs a bit but day to day, don't even follow much on the net except once in a while.

Live down the street from one of the largest and nicest ice skating multi-rinks in the south. Occasionally drop in to watch the amateur hockey games amongst the clubs or to go for a skate in July!

Baseball- Giants: I'm a 4th generation fan from when they were the NY Giants. I grew up in NY

Football- Giants: Again, from NY. 3rd generation fan

Basketball- Thunder: Kinda cheered for the Knicks growing up, but stopped paying close attention when the NBA got boring at the end of the 90s. Started rooting for the celtics when they got good again cuz my dad has always been a celtics fan and i enjoyed watching them. After getting back in to the NBA as it was getting super fun to watch again, i fell in love with the thunder and now I never miss a game. Even though I'm a fan of the Giants and Giants from birth, I love the Thunder just as much.

College basketball: St John's: My dad has been a fan for decades, so naturally I became one. They're hard to root for, not only because they're never very good, but also because college basketball is beyond boring.

Baseball - Braves. I grew up in East TN and they were the team for the entire South. I remember lying in bed with an AM radio listening to the games on the west coast because my parents wouldn't let me stay up and watch. Now that I live in Metro-Atlanta I make it a point to be at every Opening Day and I get to 4-5 games a season.

Football - Titans/Falcons. The Titans are the home team. I'm a Falcons fan by marriage.

Basketball - I used to really like the Bulls back in the Jordan era but I find the NBA completely unwatchable now.

Hockey - Hate it.

NBA is still good come playoff time. Otherwise, NO.

not to get into a whole thing, but I just don't understand this. to me the NBA has become the most fun league to watch. The 4th quarter of that Spurs-Rockets game was amazing. I tried to watch the Duke-Arizona game the other day and man it simply couldn't compare to the offensive sets and defensive rotations on display in the NBA. I turned it off after a couple minutes.

Houston Texans, Astros, and Rockets.

In between all the foreign places I lived as a kid we always lived in Houston. I graduated from high school in Houston and my father still lives there.

My Texans and Astros are pathetic but the Rockets aren't half bad.

Baseball: Atlanta Braves. I started watching them in 2007 with one of my best friends and was immediately hooked. I hated baseball every second of my life before that season so I don't know why but it happened.

Football: Miami Dolphins. I have just always been a fan as long as I can remember.

MLS: Seattle Sounders. I have rooted for them since they were the newest expansion team. I like how Seattle has embraced the sport and their team so fervently.

Premiere League: Manchester United. I have been a fan of ManUnited since 2002 or so. Just have always enjoyed their team and the players they have had.

NBA: I don't really have a favorite team. I have favorite players and I basically root for them and the more interesting teams.

NFL: Washington Redskins because they're the "local" team and because I'm a glutton for punishment.

NBA: Washington Bullets ("Wizards" never happened) for the same reasons, although I rarely watch the NBA anymore.

MLB: Cincinnati Reds. If there had been a team in Washington when I was a kid, they'd probably be my team, but I remember watching the Reds on the Saturday Game of the Week towards the end of the Big Red Machine era in the late '70s, and I guess I just decided that they would be my team. I know Washington has a team now but it's too late, the Reds are in my blood.

I agree. If I wasnt' so invested in my (albiet crappy) alma mater, I don't think I'd watch 10 seconds of college basketball in one season. Nobody can score in college basketball.

I'm from Virginia so I kind of go by the party line.

NFL: Redskins. My whole family is from Pittsburgh so I go for them when the SKins get knocked out. If not them then anyone who is playing the Ravens/Giants/Eagles/Cowboys.

NBA: Wizards. I hate the name, but I figure we'll be the Bullets again one day.

NHL: Caps....can't wait to watch them lose in another Game 7 again this year!

MLB: Nats. And generally any against the Braves/Phillies/Yankees/Red Sux.

Baseball: Pittsburgh Pirates since I was four. I hate all those bandwagoners that showed up this year.

Football: Brett Favre and Tim Tebow fan. I stopped rooting for a team. Now, I watch the NFL to avoid collegiate homework and maintain my childhood.

Basketball: NBA: The No Travel League

Hockey: Sort of interested

Soccer: Go Spurs! Only because I love the name Hotspur. Because of an English general in the early 1400's. Hotspur Percy.

NFL:
Washington - Started rooting for them back in 87. Didn't really pay attention to the NFL until watching the news and seeing Doug Williams would be the first black QB to start in the Super Bowl (I was a news hound as a child).

NBA:
Phoenix - Liked them when Charles Barkley played for them; decided to keep up the trend after he left...it was easier that way.

MLB:
Philadelphia - No real reason except to be a contrarian, I guess.

RE: what pro teams you root for and, why?
NFL: Dolphins- My dad is a huge Dolphins fan, so I just followed. We've had some real father-son bonding moments by yelling at the TV together and such.

MLB: Blue Jays- When I was little, they had a Minor League team in Knoxville. One time when I went to a game, I caught a foul ball, and got it signed by one player. Turned out to be Roy Halladay. Been a fan ever since.
A's- I just like how they compete with the big spenders, and I was a huge fan of Moneyball, both the movie and book.
(Only mild interest) Marlins- This one is kind of on hold until they get rid of Loria. I hate that man.
(Mild interest) White Sox- I work for their Minor League team in Birmingham, so I guess I'm obligated to at least hope they do well.

NBA: A very mild interest in the Raptors. I don't really care for the NBA as a whole.

EPL: Everton- Like the A's, they punch above their economic weight. Plus, Tim Howard is on their team (USA, USA!).
