acting clueless that the B1G sucks and has now for years….hmmmm seems like I've seen this before. Can't……quit….put my…..finger…..on it hmmmmm

First off don't question my fandom. I have been a active member of BearcatNews for the last 5 years, but the forums seem to be dying, and that is how I found out about this forum.

I'm a huge bearcat fan, but yes I also like Ohio State, though if they lose I am not pissed off like I am when the Bearcats do.

But I like to call out bull**** when I see it. To say Florida State played a much tougher schedule is bull****. The biggest difference is the Clemson win. FSU passed the eye test by crushing opponents, where OSU, let some teams back in the game. That is to be expected with a Coombs coached secondary.

Ohio state is realistically the 5th best team in the country, but that's not the way the BCS game is played. You play in a power conference, and win all your games you should go to the title game.

LOL I see what we call barely squeaking by less than good teams you euphemistically call "letting some teams back in" and then blame Coombs. Call it what you will, you have played a total BS schedule and not even looked good against that schedule. I'd like a good national title game and OSU in that game won't be good because you will be exposed vs REAL teams and get BOMBED…AGAIN.

We have played a weak schedule, and unfortunately dropped that game to South Florida that still makes me sick. I blame Coombs because he is a TERRIBLE defensive backs coach. I watched our secondary get torched year in and year out from 07-11?

What does usf have to do with osu's sched? Actually, what does UC's sched have to do with osu's sched? Both sched's were poor. It's called a team sport - one coach is not to blame for the deficiencies of an entire team.

The poster stated "Call it what you will, you have played a total BS schedule and not even looked good against that schedule."

Granted I don't play on any team, but I am a Bearcat, so the "you" bust be referring to "we." OSU also played a bad schedule, though in fairness, the way OOC games are scheduled it will be a mixed bag on what you get. Who is to say Nebraska will be good in 2020? Just like when Ohio State scheduled CAL they were likely coming off seasons with MJD, and Rodgers. I think all large programs, including UC should stop playing FCS teams. I have always disliked Coomb's, and while one coach is never the complete blame, it was obvious that OSU's weak link on Saturday was their secondary.

RE: OSU Michigan fight
Oh, there were more reprimands there: to Buckeyes starting offensive guard Marcus Hall (15) for throwing a punch and the OSU coaching staff for failing to get Hall out of the stadium before he went full-on wrestling heel. But in a decision that harkens back to the efforts of commissioner Jim Delany (16) to lobby for Terrelle Pryor & Co. to play for Ohio State in the 2011 Sugar Bowl after violating NCAA rules, Hall was not suspended.

Why? Because the Buckeyes are in position to play for the national title, but first must beat Michigan State and its No. 1 defense Saturday in the Big Ten championship game. And gentleman Jim wouldn't want Ohio State at less than full strength for that game.

So Hall will play, despite coming off the bench to punch a Michigan player, slamming his helmet to the turf, kicking a bench and then firing twin-barreled obscene gestures at the Michigan Stadium stands on his way out. For a league that ranks among the national leaders (if not legends) in pious rhetoric about class and character, here was the unapologetic opposite in action.

And the Big Ten's response, after Urban Meyer went Pontius Pilate, washed his hands and left it up to the league? Suit up, son. There are BCS checks to collect, and a reputation to salvage. A football reputation, that is.

In desperate pursuit of that, the Big Ten's standards for acceptable behavior are clearly negotiable.
