Let the good times role. How awesome would it be for Lynch to rush for 250 and throw for 250... Be a great way to finish the season of dreams.

So if Duke somehow gets by FSU and NIU beats BGSU, would Lynch surge past Winston or not necessarily?

Pollack and Palmer would vote for Bridgewater.

Would you vote for Jameis Winston for the Heisman Trophy right now?

http://espn.go.com/espn/fp/flashPollResu...Id=4065543

Interesting results.

I'm not sure, take the possible criminal issues out of it, I feel like Winston even with 1 loss still looks pretty darn good.

I wonder if lingering criminal issues + loss to Duke would be enough. Right now voters just don't have any on the field reason to go away from him.

It's unreal that we're having this discussion. There appears to be an actual opening for Lynch....I'm nearly speechless. Just two weeks ago I'd have laughed at anyone that suggested so many bad performances could happen.

I didn't realize Duke was 29 point dogs hahaha, I admit I have not seen one snap of Blue Devil football this year.

RE: SI Week 14 Heisman Watch
I think the criminal issues will shy away a lot of voters. It's an award with a ton of prestige and the voters might not want the stink of voting for a candidate with that lingering over his head, even if he isn't charged at the time voting ends that's not going to stop being from making their own assumptions.

The Heisman isn't just about on the field accomplishments, if it was Bush would still be recognized as a winner. He was stripped because of accepting money. Integrity is definitely taken into account.

That being said...even though it will shy away some voters I still expect Winston to win. If he does lose the ACC Championship Game I expect Lynch (I can't believe I'm saying this) to be the front runner with a big game and win against BGSU.

I coached (I use that term loosely, he was a shot putter, I was a sprint coach) one of the starting OL on Duke. He has NFL potential, that makes me want Duke to win even more. But yeah they're 29 point underdog, I'm trying to be realistic.

100 posts for me, I'm so glad I found this site. COGS

They shouldn't win that game, but Duke is dangerous. They beat Virginia Tech on the road, Miami at home, and have won 8 straight. Not going to match up physically with FSU, but given a few breaks, that game could be interesting.

I watch Duke as much as any other team for reasons I stated above and they are a good team (obviously they won their division in the ACC). I think they can give FSU fits for stretches.

FSU 38
Duke 24

Closer than expected.

And remember last year's ACC championship game when a .500 Georgia Tech gave FSU quite a fight? Granted, GT runs an offense that isn't practiced against a lot, but anything can happen.

RE: SI Week 14 Heisman Watch
Big 12 Championship Games used to always produce huge upsets that knocked teams out of the title game at seasons end.

Never assume in college football. I wonder what the turnout will be for each team. FSU travels well but will some people want to save their money and save up for the title game thinking this is a foregone conclusion?

Duke basketball gets tons of support but even on Senior Night against a ranked opponent there were lots of empty seats. Will Duke fans skip the game also thinking it's a foregone conclusion? Will they be happy just to be there and show up because the football team is never really this good? The game is about 2.5 hours from Duke's campus, will kids want to dedicate a whole day to going to the game when the most likely scenario is getting beating up bad?

Matthew Osborne is the editor of The Trentonian and a Heisman Trophy voter and has Lynch #1:

Lynch article

The story talks about a guy from a small school that got invited to the Heisman ceremony in the '80's. Pretty neat.

Ha! My boss watched Gordie Lockbaum in person several times as a kid, and the first time we seriously brought Lynch's name up for the Heisman (3 weeks ago), he immediately referred to Lockbaum's magical season. Lynch is becoming the default #2 for so many voters, this MACC will be the final test to see if he deserves the top of the list...unreal!!

RE: SI Week 14 Heisman Watch
The only way Lynch wins is if he has a monster game and Winston is charged. Even if Winston chokes and FSU loses, he still wins. If Bryce Petty has a big game (and win) in the rivalry game with Texas, he probably could move ahead of Lynch.
