It amazes me how throughout the season alot of Belt fans (particularly Troy, App, and GaSo fans), sit here and wonder why teams would leave for CUSA. Take a look around. This is why.

Last year you'll have to be concerned about your 8-4 team sitting home at bowl time. Welcome aboard in 2014.

St. fans clearly made an ass out of themselves after a game now that really did not matter for one second....I am sure GO Daddy reps had made their mind up weeks ago they were taking Ark St. from the beginning...Hard to see Ark. St. fans who claim to know everything miss on that...

I don't see it that way. Commish Benson followed his "guidelines" (bylaws, whatever) and worked to get the #2 SBC team a bowl. I have no problem with ASU going to GoDaddy. They should. They are second in the conference and should get the second bowl tie.

I heard that Godaddy told WKU it's there's after the game until later ASU stepped in and caused a scene and Godaddy changed things to eliminate controversy. It is what it is.... Mobile wanted a new team because they depend on the tourist to spend money on site seeing, ASU has been there two years in a roll and most of there're fans have already seen the attractions. This will probably cost Godaddy and Mobile money.

you need to run for a political office because in 15 years I hardly ever seen you get off the fence. The only time I ever remember you taking a side was when UofL bought out the return basketball game...back in 2000 or 2001

WKU deserves a bowl at 8-4, no question. Still a lot of dominoes to fall and time to get things in order to find another spot.

I try to be reasonable and see all sides. I was pretty upset two years ago when we were left out at 7-5 and #2 in the conference. I guess that is why I can appreciate ASU's position this year. Number 2 in the conference should get you a bowl game when there are two bowl ties.

I'm not saying I would turn down the invite if we got one, or that I am not disappointed. But of all the illogical and unfair screw-jobs that go on in bowl selection, I don't see that WKU got screwed. Left out, yes, but not screwed.

Rumblings all week were that Go Daddy reps said whomever won the game would get the invite. They did also tell WKU they would like some fresh blood. However 2 things went against WKU for the invite. #1 was the piss poor attendance on Thanksgiving weekend. 14k+ our lowest attended game of the season BY FAR and Hilltoppernation picked a great time to do it. #2 is the Sun Belt specifically requesting that Go Daddy take ASU. We all knew that would happen, but it was Go Daddy decision whether or not to listen. I think the attendance of the game and apathy of the WKU crowd on Saturday helped make the decision a little easier for the Go Daddy people.

Now if Rutgers or SMU lose this weekend that will likely open up a spot in Birmingham as well. While there are a lot of eligible teams this season. Some of those are misleading. ULM, TROY, and Texas St are not going bowling for example (Sorry guys, but we know a 6-6 team from SBC isn't getting it). You can take those 3 off the list. FAU may not get the chance either. And UTSA cannot until every team is placed because of their transition to FBS...meaning no bowl for them. When you do the math WKU basically just has to beat out 2-3 teams for a game. Which is entirely possible seeing as the MAC has so many eligible. Even with all the MAC eligible the Pizza Bowl cannot have two MAC teams facing each other. I think 1 or 2 of them will be left at home. Most likely CMU and Ohio (who's lost 3 of last 4 with only win over 1-11 UMASS). Pizza Bowl is probably WKU's best shot.

I agree about the attendance, however, attendance is usually going to be poor on a holiday weekend. That should be taken into account by the bowl reps.
And I understand the SBC specifically speaking up for ASU to the GoDaddy reps. Sure would have been nice if they would have spoken up for WKU just once in the past 3 years. Where in the h*ll were they two years ago?
I love the SBC except during bowl season, then I hate it and its administration with a passion.

I understand what your point was and I know you have a passion for WKU sports. But it's OK to not say the "right thing" all the time and be a A**hole every now and then and show that passion.

We all have our pet peeves and someone always going down the middle and being "pc" all the time is one of mine. I know I should keep my problems/pet peeve to myself but then....

Haha, fair enough. I work on being more "A**holeish". Perhaps take some pointers from ASU posts the last 48 hours.

Should have beat USA and Troy. Just one of those wins puts us in a bowl.

WKU could have gone 11-1 and not have been guaranteed a bowl if that one loss was to a SBC team with a 7-0 conference record.

I personally don't care if wku goes bowling. Their team is average and I don't like most of the fans. I don't care they are going to cusa either, one less undeserved ego to put up with. Enjoy being in a conference with utsa I'm sure y'all will get along swell.

I'm sure our starting QB playing with a broken throwing hand had nothing to do with that. I never said we were better either, just that y'all were average and you are.

No wonder ya'll lost by an average of more than 18 points to 5 SBC schools. That QB must have been an incredible one man show. Hope he's OK.

If the conference doesn't help WKU get into a bowl and they do it on there own why should they have to give the conference any of the money they make if there is a profit.
