I'd be pretty upset if Alabama got back into yet ANOTHER BCSNC after not winning their division, or even conference.

So, if this happened, Who would jump 5 or more spots to #2, or would college football fans everywhere besides in Tuscaloosa feel lubelessly f*cked again?

It'd be between Alabama and Michigan St. The question would be could MSU get far enough ahead in the polls to balance out the cpu advantage Alabama would have?

Michigan St. wouldn't get there. They are way down in the polls and computers. It would be between Alabama and FSU.

I don't even see why Alabama would be an option. Just like in 2011, what's the point in fighting to win your conference if you can just get tossed into the NC anyways?

OSU (Okie) has absolutely no shot to jump Bama. Bama would have lost to a top 5 team. Really the number 1 ranked team, on the road in a flukey game, since FSU and OSU would drop out of the top 2 with losses. It would simply be Bama vs Auburn/Mizzou winner, no ifs ands or buts. You guys could whine about it. I didn't agree that Bama should have been in the game against LSU a couple of years ago. But this year it's completely justified.

I'm dying to see Ohio State blow this game. Where is the game being played? Lucas Oil???

If his scenario happened-
1 FSU lost
2 Ohio St lost
3 Auburn won
4 Alabama dnp
5 Missouri lost
6 Oklahoma St lost
7 Stanford ? vs Ariz St
8 S Carolina dnp
9 Baylor ? vs Texas
10 Mich St won

I think FSU would drop like wil e coyote off a cliff.... don't think they would have a chance. They'd be below Alabama in the polls, and in the computers.

I think it'd be almost a certainty that it'd be Alabama just looking at things.

In a 4-team playoff, sooner or later, the playoff will include a team that didn't win its conference. Probably sooner rather than later. If we had a 4-team playoff this year, I think Bama would be in.

They almost definitely would be in.

Alabama just sucks voters off... Look at 2011... #1 LSU beat #16 UGA 42-10 in the SECCG, while #3 OkSt beat #14 OU 44-10...

Now how in the hell are you not gonna let OkSt jump to #2? Alabama didn't even play anybody and they stayed at #2. That's the flaw here.

Here's the difference from 2011:

LSU finished 13-0. They had won the SEC outright. No need to be punished playing Bama again, whom they had beaten on the road. Ok St should have been in the game, because it wasn't fair to LSU. The regular season victory @Bama was meaningless.

And this "What If" in 2013:

Bama loses on the road against the team that already had a loss. They lose a head to head tie breaker, but it's not an outright Auburn division victory. Had Auburn gone undefeated, then I would match Ok St (assuming they win) against them in the NC game, but that's not the case.

tOSU and FSU would depend on how they lost IMO. Boatracing everyone else would probably count for something.
P12 would all have two losses, eliminated.

It would come down to the following other than Bama to potentially slip in there: (ranked in order of likelihood)

FSU (Close loss)
tOSU (Close loss)
Bama
Baylor
FSU (blowout)
tOSU (blowout)

Maybe it's just the bias coming out of me... Alabama didn't deserve to be there in 2011, but went, and if not for tOSU sanctions, they wouldn't have been in last year, so this whole ordeal of "three peating" just drives me crazy. Then they all come out saying "You can hate all you want but until you have a history like ours, you have no room to talk."

Yeah, sure. Like those guys were ever saying that pre-2008, when the only Alabama fans resided in Tuscaloosa. I'd probably lose sleep if they went a third, undeserved time. Unless they lost.

The thing about FSU and especially OSU- their cpu numbers would be behind Alabama.

Just look at Anderson Hester- one of the computers.
1 FSU 59th SOS
2 Ohio St 61st SOS
4 Alabama 40th SOS

FSU/Ohio St would improve their SOS, but not by 19 or 21 spots.

If Alabama is ahead of those 2 in all the computers- it'd be hard for me to see the polls put FSU or Ohio St far enough ahead in the polls to counteract that.

Brad Edwards has already come out and said Bama is in the game, so this is wrong. Brad Edwards has been wrong before, but it makes sense. The voters would put Bama in the game. It's really that simple.

If FSU and OSU lose, then Bama deserves to be in the game IMO. KSU and Oregon had every opportunity to play in the title game, and they couldn't seal the deal last year. Ohio St was ineligible so nobody gave a **** about Buckeye fans whining.

Just go out there and win your CCG's, and this conversation is moot.

That's exactly what this is about lol. Not winning your CCG and still getting to go to the BCSNC.

I'd have to say a lot of this is an expression of some LSU hatred for Alabama.

With the benefit of hindsight it was the right NC game. It simply proved that Alabama was the dramatically better team.

I'm just talking about the teams in question this Saturday. But the way the CCG are set up is already imbalanced, due to unbalanced divisions. I believe the title game should be about what is fair (when everything in CF is ironically anything but, don't ask me why), and who is most deserving of playing for the title. I don't look at petty things from a broken setup, like "Oh this team lost a broken tie breaker that knocked them out of their own CCG, even though everyone knows they are a top 2 team. So they shouldn't be in the title game because..." We all knew Bama was the number 2 team in 2011, so the BCS got it right in that respect. But LSU was clearly number one, and they should not have been punished like that.

FSU and Ohio St would be in the exact same boat as Alabama.

even with the new playoff- they've said they'll give priority to conference champions. Not division champions.

That is bull. How can you say that? Oklahoma State had better wins than Bama did and all the bowls did was add a very good Stanford team to that.

OSU deserved it more than Bama did IMO. Bama won, but their resume didn't merit it over OSU IMO.

Besides, if this were to happen Mizzou would play for a NC.
