Not according to CBS Sports. Marshall is 33rd and Rice is 54th.

As I much as I hate it if Marshall would have beat MTSU then we wouldn't have this consecration.

According to palm they calculated this differently than bcs rankings on CBS sports website. I'm not sure I understand how.

There'd likely be even fewer fans to show up if it were at a neutral site. For all the grumbling about rigged ratings, letting the top-rated team host is the best option for the conference.

You are correct, my friend. (Or Ohio, or kicked the field goal against VT). Plus Rice has a P5 win (Kansas) and didn't need an FCS win to get to 9-3. We don't have a P5 win and one FCS win (Gardner Webb). It all translates into a slightly higher computer ranking. It is what it is. Those are the rules we all play by.

Let's go down and play our game to beat Rice, and then I SO want to pay MTSU back next year.

How is it classless? Don't listen to the few who have been on here, embarasingly prideful.

We have a right to be upset. Per BCS stipulations, they normally take the Coaches Poll (1/3) Harris Poll (1/3) and combination of 6 computer formulas (1/3)...we were the team who had the higher ranking in Coaches Poll and Harris Poll, yet, NOT HOSTING.

So yeah, we have a right to be a little upset. That takes nothing away from Rice, but it certainly does suck.
