Are you serious?

I would have gladly played their OOC schedule. Kentucky, Navy, Morgan St. at home, Tennessee and Army on the road?

I would have also taken NIUs. Besides, Iowa, you played nobody. Purdue, Eastern Illinois and Idaho?

In case you missed it, Auburn and Mizzou are top 5. Memphis is our rival game. No a good loss, but anything can happen in a rivalry.

They can be pissed if they want, but they should have beaten South Alabama and Troy like we did. Maybe if they had a tougher non-conference schedule they could have handled their conference schedule a little better.

You should probably be more worried about Bowling Green then worrying about the Sun Belt anyway.

I do really hope you beat Arkansas next year. That would be fantastic.

Again, you got creamed by Memphis. So who is to say you could beat a bad Kentucky team or even Navy. Also, I highly doubt you go 4 - 0 with our OOC schedule. In fact, I would wager that Eastern Illinois would smoke you guys by at least two scores. See what they did to San Diego State before playing us. We are their only loss this season.

This is the MAC board so if you want to come on our board and start airing out how much you hate your league and that you are getting screwed out of a bowl game then you better be ready for a response.

All I care about his beating BG and making another BCS game. After that, I want to see whatever MAC team heads to Mobile smoke you guys. Nothing personal but I am all MAC when NIU isn't playing.

So the MAC has fans? Hard to imagine from all those games on ESPN when there are about 4000 fans in the stands. Pretty embarrassing.

Like you smoked Idaho? Your team is good but you are delusional if you think you could beat Auburn or Mizzou on the road.

I am rationale. We played Iowa down to the wire 4 years ago, but we didn't beat them. I don't think we are as good as NIU but I wish we could have had our coaching staff for that bowl game instead of 1 coach and some volunteers. It showed when we jumped out to an early lead but couldn't adjust. Your team is good but it's sad that your bragging about an FCS win. Then again, most of your conference is pretty weak.

I didn't air anything about hating my league or thinking I got screwed out of a bowl. I am a stAte fan. I came over here to see if there was any discussion about the GoDaddy bowl on this dead ass board. Last year I couldn't find a Kent State fan who gave a crap.

I will say that I enjoyed visiting with some NIU folks on the beach two years ago before the game. And again, I hope you beat Arkansas next year. Maybe then you won't have to puff your chest out for beating Eastern Illinois or whoever.

To what conference is WKU moving? If they're going to CUSA they're really dumb. As for BSU playing Arkansas State, I'd gladly welcome that matchup, even without our coach.

NIU played without most of its coaching staff in the Humanitarian Bowl in 2010 and our interim head coach was our LB coach during the regular season. We proceeded to dismantle Fresno State.

I watch because they are on week nights and I love all kinds of football but the crowds are really bad. Be careful what you wish for BS. We have beaten NT 8 years in a row. I hope you come to Mobile. It would be great fun and I would like some friendly banter leading up to the game. I am getting bored with you guys as I'm sure you're getting bored with me. Gonna wait and see who gets the invite and I will be back. Good luck Huskies

There seemed to be a lot of crying going on here the last couple days from ASU fans... Is WKU left out of the post season then? I will admit, between them and you they deserved the spot more considering they just beat you last weekend and had a better OOC showing.

WKU's OOC was dismal, They beat Kentucky, Navy and Morgan St at Home, lost to Tenn and beat a pitiful Army team on the road.

State lost to Auburn, Mizzou, and Memphis all away.

stAte finished 7-5 / 5-2 in the SB and has sole possession of second place. If UL loses this week, stAte will be 3 peat conference champs (this year being a tie) WKU finished 8-4 but 4-3 in the conference.

So who deserves the bid? #2 or possible #1 in the league or a team that tied for 3rd place?

BTW, stAte lost a heart-breaker at WKU by 3 points with some pretty poor officiating. No excuses for that, but just sayin

Doesn't matter, we got the bid and hopefully we can play a bowl game with our head coach for the first time. Whoever comes down to Mobile will have a good time. They will be outnumbered about 5 to 1 based on the last two years against NIU and Kent, but it will be fun.

So you played a slightly tougher OOC schedule but lost every game including to Memphis by four scores who totally sucks? Meanwhile WKU beat an SEC team and a respectable Navy team. What on earth are you trying to do here? Why would any single one of these people care about our schedule, or WKU's schedule...which by the way, your argument is ruined when you try to paint Navy as a bad team.

I was simply pointing out who the SBC rep for the game is...not whether or not we deserved the game.

I was actually referring to comments on our expansion board by one of your fellow posters. Apparently there was some serious cardiac going on over the Go Daddy Bowl.

no doubt. Both sides had their argument. WKU deserves a bowl. If they had gotten the GoDaddy, I still think stAte would have gotten a bid.

Seriously, I was just goading a little on the MAC stuff. Lots of MAC teams don't get the respect they deserve. That crap about us forcing our way in is just that, crap. We took GoDaddy today b/c Indy couldn't give us an invite until after SEC teams get placed. WKU will be fine

Look forward to the game

The Conference rewrote a by law in about 10 minutes time to allow us to be left out if the Go daddy wanted. Our brilliant commissioner then actually encouraged us to turn the Go Daddy bid down when it came and hold out for Shreveport because they might have a spot for us on Sunday.

Paranoia does not begin to describe the last few days.

Not really, CUSA has their biggest rival (MTSU) and is paying out more. Plus basketball (WKU's claim to fame) is significantly better in CUSA vs the SBC.

Yes, look at statsheet.com's conference RPI to date (trimmed to span what will be the Go5 conferences) ... CUSA is 3 steps up the conference ladder (NB. I have no idea which stat sites are the best for this):

8. The American RPI=0.541
9. SEC RPI=0.534
10. MWC RPI=0.531
11. Horizon League RPI=0.515
12. Colonial Athletic RPI=0.514
13. West Coast RPI=0.510
14. Mid-American RPI=0.508
15. Ivy League RPI=0.494
16. Western Athletic RPI=0.493
17. Big Sky RPI=0.491
18. Conference USA RPI=0.484
19. Patriot League RPI=0.478
20. Atlantic Sun RPI=0.477
21. Sunbelt RPI=0.473

I'm crossing my fingers for Ohio to make a bowl game this year. A lot of people may Ohio doesn't deserve to go this year, what with their nuclear meltdown from Homecoming on. But if last year showed us anything is that the Bobcats can bounce back from a rough ended to perform in the post-season.

That being said, I'm kind of curious what has to happen for OU to get in...Most of the projections I've read has the 'Cats in it; however, Matt Daley from the Hustle Belt doesn't see it working that way.

Mandel claims to be basing much of his on discussions with the schools & bowls.

It will help OhioU's chances if Rutgers loses, since they are typically projected as one of the 77 bowl eligible schools, and if its 76 bowl eligible schools to fill 70 spots, that's one more spot to fill among those presently projected.

Part of what OhioU has to do is what it has already done, in terms of its turn-out for previous bowls.

RE: CBS updated bowl predictions!
stAte had excitement issues all year long. When they did show up they played like the team they were last season. On the flip side you also had a team that didn't show up at all for Memphis or ULL..we played mizzou very tough just ball bounce wrong in 4th quarter.

clear sign of a young staff and players...hopefully for once we can take a complete coaching staff to the bowl game.
