Hot dog shortage remained!
Thought this was interesting from the Sun-Times:

This being the first time Northern Illinois has hosted state — it’ll be here in odd-numbered years with Illinois hosting in even-numbered years — everything wasn’t perfect. The small concession booth underneath the south side of the home grandstand was out of hot dogs and pepperoni pizza by halftime of the Class 6A final and was running low on cheese pizza. But on the problem scale, too much demand for food, is pretty far down. It’s something that can be easily fixed by the time the state finals come back to town in 2015.

Consessions is 1 department under the convocation center, the person managing that department clearly has not taken supply and demand economics and supply managament at school. Time to look for someone else, season long issue.

I haven't paid a ton of attention, do they still rely on volunteers to man concession stands? I could see there being breakdowns monitoring/communicating if supplies of anything needs a re-up if they still do.

Yeah that 3,000 number doesn't really make much sense. Maybe he's referring to the atmosphere of the 1A game.

Go with a brat!! with some mustard, it's all good.
Had one Tuesday. Of course, at that point, I was eating for the heat producing internal calories needed to STAY ALIVE and not freeze to death, which would have ruined the game for me :)

I'm awfully curious on overall attendance/tickets sold. The Batavia game had WAY more than 3,000. I wouldn't be surprised if there were 10,000 at that game.

My guess is 3,000 min, 10,000 max, for each game...

It looked easily 10k on tv, in paper. East side looked about 2500+alone for Saturday afternoon.

Announcer said that was the most they have seen in attendance in a very long time.

Glad to hear that, for the most part, the games were a tremendous success. Congrats to the Destination DeKalb committee and all involved in our host efforts.

Simply raise the price of hot dogs, the demand will drop, and nobody will be happy.

RE: Hot dog shortage remained!
Concessions at Huskie Stadium is terrible. Nothing worse than ordering a hot chocolate on a cold day and then get a luke warm drink with no flavor. They need to update their old big jug technology that do not keep the drinks hot. Train their employees to use correct ratios of chocolate powder to water. Really not that difficult. We are not talking about fancy french culinary techniques for hot drinks and hot dogs. A little bit of effort could improve the overall experience. Quality control.
