Also remember that a significant portion of Clemson's fanbase travels 3+ hours one way to get to football games. That puts a damper on coming up for games. The last basketball game I watched in Littlejohn the only reason I went was because I was already in Seneca for work and it was only 15 minutes away from my motel. I can typically come up and make it a weekend for a baseball series, or an entire day for football with tailgating....but for an number of reasons, including the fact that college basketball only gets interesting the first three rounds of the tourney, basketball isn't worth it.

Don't worry, we will fill in the remaining seats when we play you! This reminds me of a post from an Indiana fan about playing at Rutgers. Again, don't worry, we will be there. 04-cheers

RE: ACC '14 FB Schedule Release
The last few posts can be summed up as Clemson fans don't care about basketball for the most part. The rest are simply excuses and it is what it is. Many other Southern schools don't care about basketball and many or most Northern school fans don't care about baseball.

It impacts total athletic department revenue but I do agree the sea change with this is not coming soon.

Ideally, schools would all push the most profitable sports - 1. football, 2. basketball, 3. baseball, etc. - but in reality, each school has it own interests & apathies. It could be worse - you could be a Virginia Cavaliers football fan (now that HAS to be frustrating! all that potential and so little to show for it...)

That's what I was thinking. So you wait until March to make your hotel reservations. So What?
