This is going to be a long post on the subject of the Monte Mathis hire and XU rumors. Today at work I was talking to a big XU fan who is a season ticket holder. It turns out that his father in law is on the XU board of trustees, and I asked the person at my work (VP of the company) specific questions with regards to two rumors that I have heard on these forums. The first rumor I asked about was confirmed to be true. I asked if Dawn Rogers was let go from the program because of an affair with the strength coach. The person at work's father in law stated TODAY on the phone that Justin Doleman walked in on Dawn Rogers and the strength coach having an affair. The father in law stated that this was a very sad occurrence because of the fact that Dawn has a husband and kids, and XU officials had everything that mentioned Dawn and a Strength coach removed from their online Forums and Blogs immediately. The story was swept under the carpet. On the subject of Monte Mathis, I had the person I work with ask why he was let go and if rumors that I heard were true. The rumors that I had heard about were said to be false. The person at work's father in law stated that Sean Miller and Mathis did not get along all that well and that Mathis was somewhat of an outcast on the XU staff. The father in law had also heard the rumors but said that there was no truth to those rumors, more a case of not working well together. Monte Mathis knew he was going to be let go at the end of the XU season and he was happy with the split.

His reputation has already been tarnished. Perception is reality, and if anyone knows that it is UC fans. If the rumors are not true, than I am sorry for Mathis, but he is still a bad hire because most people in the AAU and recruiting circuits believe it did happen.

Walked in on them having an affair? Poor Justine probably hasn't been the same since.

Yup. The damage is done, it doesn't really matter if it happened or not at this point.

Maybe I missed something. What was the alleged rumor regarding Mathis?

Reality isn't fair, and the reality is his reputation on the AAU circuit is lower than dog $hit. It doesn't matter if it's true or not, people already believe it's true, and sadly that's all that matters.

Michael Jackson probably does this all the time. Both the taking on a roadtrip and the spanking part. ;-)

Who on here attends AAU events frequently, or has ever been to an AAU circuit event before? I am just curious how everyone knows that Mathis's reputation is tarnished on the AAU front, or is this just hearsay information. I myself have only been to one AAU event in the past, so the only AAU stuff I here about is on these forums.

Really, the whole thing could have been avoided had he chosen an alternative form of punishment for the monkey. Like say a time out, or withholding bananas or not letting him dress up in a suit and do his Pete Gillen imitation. I never believed in spanking anyway.
