10, 12 hour flight from Florida? Makes perfect sense.07-coffee3

No one will go anyway. Locals are pretty much the only ones who support it save the super-donors.

I don't see ECU playing Maryland in the Military Bowl.......AGAIN. You would think everyone would want some variety.

Exactly. FAU would porbably bring 2-3K at most to a close bowl at this time. Hawaii wouldnt expect high amounts of people to travel so it wouldnt look bad for FAU and the confrence if not a lot of people made it.

With the exception of ND's appearance in the Hawaii Bowl a few years ago, no school travels well for that bowl. None. Can't expect thousands of people to suddenly find the means to do that at the end of the season. The Hawaii Bowl serves it's main purpose by being a 3-4 hour travel ad for the Hawaii tourist bureau. Good destination for the teams to enjoy as well and those of us college football junkies get a Christmas eve game to watch. Wouldn't matter if the stadium was empty and there have been a couple times when it practically was.

Enjoy your bowls this year, because next year Southern Miss will get ALL the bowl slots! ALL OF THEM! BA-WA-HA-HA!

Sorry, still excited about the win. Good luck to all of our bowl-bound teams. Rice and Marshall, remember what happens to C-USA Champs who play in the Hawaii Bowl and don't be next!

Dead on. The Hawaii Bowl was created strictly to provide Hawaii a place to play when bowl eligible since they travel so badly, no bowl would typically select them. Conversely, the bowl knows that last minute travel to Hawaii on Christmas Eve is difficult and doesnt expect much from opponents. The truth is, when Hawaii doesn't play in the bowl, it's darn near empty.
