I want to have my best defender on their best player. I have seen nothing from KI yet defensively that would indicate he's anywhere close to our best defender.

Smart would run over and around KI....

It is a rather strange position to be taking.

I have been saying King/Geron 100%.

We need to play to our strengths as so far that has not been SMALL ball.

1. Joe
2. Geron or Crawford (If he commits to defense)
3. King
4. Nichols
5. Shaq

That should be our starting line up.

I think the majority are under the impression that you play a freakishly long athlete like Iverson on him to disrupt him, but sag off. A long player that's playing off can make up the ground to challenge perimeter shooting and cause him problems even in passing lanes. It's hard as heck to pass around a spider monkey.

Sure, but Iverson hasn't even show the ability to guard the water cooler yet. We have barely seen him play and he has looked average at best.

I think he's going to be really good, but he's not there yet.

An inexperienced freshman guarding the best player in the country? Sounds like a horrible plan to me.

I won't disagree with that. That was just the premise in most people's minds, especially after seeing 6'9 Woods for Butler do so well.

We got to make OSU play defense to make them spend a lot of energy. They love to fly up and down the court and they protect the orange better than the Tigers.

I get that.

Woods is an experinced JR though.

Pellom would be a better fit imo. Too bad he just coming back.

I think King or Pellom would be just as effective. The main thing, no matter WHO is guarding him, is to deny him the ball as much as possible. Frustrate him and make the other 4 beat us.
