is the strength of the SEC. The man by all accounts could have had the USC job but instead stays in the SEC West.

Yea, I think he will come to regret that.

With no Manziel next year, 4-8.

I will not predict next year's record for any team, especially after the year my beloved Bulldawgs have suffered through, but I seriously doubt it?

Have you seen A&M's recruiting the last two years? The Aggies got the number 1 qb in the country this year, Kyle Allen, the only 5 star quarterback in the country as rated by Rivals.

This shows the strength of the SEC. Of course, many on here will not want to acknowledge it.

They have an atrocious defense, even with talent. Other than Manziel the offense has next to zero spark.

Will they improve? I'd like to think so but they will most likely look a lot like this year's team minus Johnny.

If so, 3-9 or 4-8, even Arkansas will have a decent shot at them.

Since when did a contract stop a coach from leaving?

A&M was suppose to be overmatched and a mid to low tier team coming in. New coach, freshman qb, they didn't stand a chance in the mighty SEC. The conference and the QB has probably helped recruiting. They might take a small step back but Allen should soften the fall a bit.

Think of it this way, with a Heisman trophy winning QB they were mid level year one and lower level year two.

What are you talking about? Last year they finished 11-2 and #5 in the country and their 2 losses were by a total of 8 points.

3rd in the SEC West. Tied for 5th in the SEC overall.

THAT'S what I'm talking about.

And, if Mizzou wins, which they just scored by the way, they will finish 4th in the West.

That's WITH a returning Heisman Trophy winner and probably the single best player in college football.

TAMU will be more than fine in the years to come. I haven't seen the details yet, but I'm betting Sumlin's new deal puts him in the top 5 in terms of salary. For those of you that live in California or Manhattan, that equates to about a $15 million a year cost of living salary in College Station. He will be able to procure any ranch, villa, small town, county, etc. that he wishes along with Mack, Big Game Bob, The Mad Hatter, and The Process. They basically have the resources and lifestyle of a James Bond villain. In SoCal, Sumlin could buy a nice condo but have to scrape the HOA fee together every year on a USC coach's salary.

And which SEC team, other than Alabama, has done better the last two years? Asinine post.

When the SEC goes to 4 divisions and there is an 8 team playoff the strength of the SEC will really assert itself. We will not win the NC every year but the SEC will even be more dominant- and A&M will do just fine.

How often does a five star QB recruit actually turn into a Heisman? You almost cannot get better than what Manziel has done at QB this year unless you got a better offensive line.

All of the top SEC programs recruit at that level and so has Texas. Look where they are at right now.

People said they wouldn't compete. Well, they have done okay but when you look at the conference standings those predictions are largely true.

One need only look at where in the conference they have placed. National polls are irrelevant to seeing how they have done in the conference.

I know, I'm watching and pulling for Mizzou. My point was that they achieved more then they were expected to. There is no reason not to expect they can do it again.

After the turnaround of Auburn from this year to last year with a new QB, doubting TAMU or any other SEC school with consistently good recruiting is not wise.

You aren't even on point.

Talk about asinine!

They have achieved about what folks expected in the SEC.

That's my point. There really isn't any arguing against that given where they finished in the conference.
