Keep this in mind once this system is in place. Bama would have another shot. Fair? Maybe.

Bama will not fall far. A Bama-Auburn rematch could still happen in the NCG if Winston is arrested and Sparty beats tOSU.

that's a good point.. If this is next year
1 FSU
2 OSU
3 Auburn
4 Alabama

I think Alabama would get in over Clemson for sure. The question would become Oklahoma St.

Bama nation just became Aggie fans. If Mizzou loses to the Aggies and South Carolina beats Auburn, Bama is sitting at #3 hoping for either Urban or Jimbo to choke.

I think Oklahoma State might end up as the spoiler of the SEC getting two teams in with this fictitious scenario.

Keep in mind that it is a small cadre of individuals making this decision. It will be much more political. When you have a team like Oklahoma State that shut down what, up until that point, had been the most explosive offense in college football then that Committee might go with them in order to make the Tournament more inclusive. You already have one Major conference being excluded. Is having Alabama included worth excluding two major conferences excluded AND possibly having a rematch between Alabama and Auburn for the championship? What if that game ends up being a dud just like the Alabama and LSU rematch? Would we want the finish we just witnessed to be tarnished by that kind of a dud in the Championship game?

I don't think the Pollsters will let it happen. Alabama is out of the NC race.

not necessarily.
1- A&M beats Missouri
2- S Carolina beats Auburn
3- Mich St beats Ohio St

and it's between Alabama and Oklahoma St. A Oklahoma St loss to Oklahoma probably gets Alabama in. the old who else is left case.

We will be at eight once they start seeing teams like Alabama get left out with one good loss.

And then it'll be 16.

When it's at four whomever is 5 is mad, when it's at 8 it's team #9.

There is no perfectly fair way to sort this out whithout killing the feel of FBS football.

Tough call. The pollsters have always favored Alabama. After all, their last two "titles" came when they were selected out of all the one loss candidates.

However, they did not even win their division this year, let alone the SEC. That might have been good enough when the team that beat them (LSU) was also invited to the BCS. But how do you invite Alabama over any other SEC team (South Carolina winning the SEC is the only one that works)? Or over a one-loss Michigan State? Or over a one loss Big 12 team (OSU/Baylor)? Without winning at least your division, the argument starts to fall apart. After all, Alabama hasn't exactly dominated this year.

May only need S. Carolina to win the SEC and one of FSU/Ohio St. to lose.
