what happens if the Dookies pull off the ACC upset as well?

A Michigan State win over Ohio State (PLEASE GOD!) and a Duke upset of Florida State (nearly impossible) would set the stage for an Auburn-Alabama rematch. 03-lmfao Of course, that assumes that Auburn beats Missouri, which isn't a given. Alabama and Missouri could play if Missouri beat Auburn in the SECCG and Ohio State and FSU lose. I don't think another team has a chance to be in the BCS title game than those five 04-cheers

Yes, letting that klutz kicker back on the field, amazing.

Imagine if that klutz kicker had made the chip shot field goal Saban passed on and Bama was up 3 with 1 second to go. Fourth down and 1 second to go you just fall on the ball and win. Not taking that chip shot was the dumbest coaching blunder of the day. The DA's court blotter will just happen to remain too cluttered through the holiday season to act on this pending case the way things have been going down there. 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 07-coffee3

The big x factor is the Heisman. Winston's attorney's want resolution this week, prior to the Heisman Vote deadline. It's an odd situation here.

After today I'm kind of hoping Ohio St and FSU win out just to shut the SEC out of the National Championship Game this year. Under any other circumstances I would be rooting for Michigan St - hoping that they would kick Meyer and the Buckeyes in their arsses!!!!!!!!!! 03-nutkick 03-nutkick 04-rock 05-mafia 05-stirthepot 05-stirthepot 02-13-banana 02-13-banana COGS COGS 04-cheers 07-coffee3

You can say that again especially since this situation has drug out for so long without any thing being done. Look I'm not saying he is guilty or anything but the situation and the way it has been handled so far does not look good for him, the young lady involved, the police department, or the DA's Office. 07-coffee3

The thing that is interesting I think is for the Heisman voting purposes, the Winston camp wants resolution this week. If resolution comes up unfavorably for him, FSU would be down to 3rd string QB- it'd be a real dangerous proposition for them to allow him to play if he's charged with a felony this week.

It's school policy to suspend a player if charged with a felony. Most people don't expect FSU to pull out some obscure clause to allow him to play, if charged. At least not people I'd deem to be reasonable. I don't think the danger's really there.

With big time football- who knows. wouldn't shock me 1 bit if he played even with being charged with a felony.

Yes, letting that klutz kicker back on the field, amazing.

The last kicker was their long range specialist. He wasn't the same guy that missed two and got one blocked.

Trying to kick the FG wasn't the dumbest coaching move by Saban. Failing to put anyone on the far side of the field to defend the runback was the biggest Saban fail.

Bingo. The kick coverage was the real problem, and Saban said so during his post game press conference.

They put in a RedShirt Freshman whom only had 3 previous tries and benched the Klutz07-coffee3

That was an amazingly well played game outside of Alabama's kicking. Even the Auburn punting was superb. I still don't know why schools don't put more importance on recruiting the best possible kickers and giving them full scholarships. They effect the game as much as any other starter.

I don't think there is any more important player than the punter. But some schools rely on walk-ons. A punter can easily mean 10 yards difference on every possession you don't score.

I know they had players with legal issues during the 90's. I'm not sure any actually played a down of football after being convicted of a felony. (I'm also not sure if any actually played while being charged with a felony or if they returned to the field once charges were reduced/dropped.) I'm not going to bother looking it up, either. Tom Osborne and Nebraska handled those things more "hands on" than the typical university.

You hear about kids being kicked off the team all of the time for "violations of team rules" and minor arrests. That's happened with multiple kids at FSU alone under Fisher's watch. I don't believe FSU plays Winston if he's charged. And there's no way they play him if he's convicted, imo. But as of now I don't think he's charged.
